EE incorrectly charged VAT for Non-EU Mobile Broadband Roaming between October 2012 and October 2014. Customers will received a credit refund of between £2 and £80 per customer after EE wrongly charged VAT on their Data Roaming bundle. This could cost EE £1 million. This mistake may have impacted on 140,000 customers.

I got a text last week saying I will be credited the incorrect amount (£3 in my case) on my next bill.

I can't see how this costs EE anything let alone £1m. Unless it was designed fraudulently no system is going to book output vat as revenue. I think it's HMRC who'll find they have £1m less than they thought as EE reclaim it.
