It really is the little things that bother me.
I don't care for Perez but the 1st night she called him out for dropping her friendship when he got famous so all her talk about trying to help him out comes across as hypocritical.
She seems a bit desperate to be liked and accepted. Her rant at Perez about how much British TV she watches, the expression of relief on her face when she heard the cheers, was saved and even when she wasn't nominated this week are probably normal reactions but they bug me.
During the recycling challenge you could see her get upset when they dropped the food and all I could think was "to fricking bad, maybe if you weren't still sick you could be doing it"
When Katie P. gave then the overnight tanning I could tell they were delighted to get called into the diary room because it meant they were getting camera time. Again, it isn't a big thing and is far more acceptable than some of Perezs' stunts but it whispers desperation in my ear.
The harshest criticism I have is her pushing Keith to stop being Switzerland and complaining about Alicia being friend with Perez when it is obvious (including this video) that no one else wants to befriend Alicia. What good would it do for her to drop Perez?”
Good post. I'm still not in the 'dislike' camp yet but I'm definitely fluctuating wildly.
The stuff like expecting Perez to conform to acceptable behaviours and not set a bad example frustrates me. If we take the feminist movement as an example, the modern feminist wants women to have choices to be whoever they are and not to pander to sexists. It's no-one's job to 'represent' their group if this means being inauthentic to who they are. It's their job to be themselves, and if being himself is being an annoying muppet, then judge him on being an annoying muppet. NOT on being an annoying GAY muppet.
And trying to 'empower' (aka railroad) Alicia into dropping her friendship with Perez, one of the few people she likes, just days after mocking Alicia herself, was blatant manipulation.
There are other times though when she talks sense and is very grounded. That's when I like her.
