Of course some are smarter about it. A bit more passive aggressive in their manner. They use code words or straddle grey areas, but the intent is the same: to relate to another person as an inferior being.
I'm not an advocate of banning it even where grossly offensive, but should it be encouraged?
Should we encourage people to offend people where it's not actually necessary or warranted?
Should we persist on demanding why not or should we be asking simply 'why'?
Is 'because I can' a good enough answer in a modern society?
I ask because we've spent a lot of time on this forum demanding the right to offend and, in my opinion, not enough time asking ourselves, 'why are we so hellbent on offending people, especially minorities, whenever or wherever possible?
