I do feel an element of sympathy but by and large the above is how I see it too.

It's pretty clear she's not the sharpest tool in the box, but I don't think she is as dumb as she makes out. Even she would know that trying to push her daughter into a boob job/ marry a rich man/ miss exams type stuff is wholly idiotic, selfish and self centred.

So you don't think she is responsible for her actions? The kiss and tells ruin people's lives not done maliciously of course. Not selfish at all putting your needs before your childs. I struggle with this as I am bipolar and when I was diagnosed after being seriously ill my marriage broke down. I decided I didnt want my daughter to be affected by my behaviour if i had an episode so i let her live with her Dad. It broke my heart and i have sobbed many timea over those 15 years but it is for her i did that. Absolutely the right thing for her.....

I couldn't understand why she thought that her daughter should be home schooled because she hasn't got any money

Most people send their kids to a state school. Was she trying to say that if she couldn't afford private education then her child would have to put up with being home schooled by her?

Alicia is likeable enough in some ways but she is sadly deluded and doesn't seem to be in step with the real world.

For whatever reason some people do not have a proper education. Children leave school in this day and age unable to read or write so it happens. Katie H seemed horrified that Alicia was teaching her child at home but her child is only three, she can't afford to send her daughter to nursery or playgroup so she is just doing what any good mother should be doing in teaching shapes, colours, alphabet, numbers etc The fact that she is doing so and learning herself should be applauded as Luisa said on CBBBOTS not belittled.
