Well that is a pathetic short term solution.. It is the ratings that will profit the company the most. An odd spike in votes is not going to help anyone

Why are all the loud annoying housemates called entertaining? They just drown others out and become boring to watch after a while.

I think the last 2 nights of BB have been great now that Perez has calmed down.

Really? Personally, it has been boring, I found myself skipping most of it. If it continues this way, I will just stop watching. Also, he is not just loud and annoying, its the fact that he causes a mass reaction out of the housemates. I usually hate loud housemates, but Perez is different.

Loud and annoying to who though?

Perez is annoying to the housemates but why is he annoying you ?
Perez is loud to the housemates but he is not particularly loud on the shows edits,in fact the loud one seems to be Cami.

Theres a huge difference between Perez disrupting housemates to Hopkins bullying housemates.
What Hopkins does is uncomfortable viewing, its brutal and genuinely hurts peoples feelings.
What Perez does is annoy the whole house rather than single individuals out.
He does not bully but annoys them enough to create drama which is a natural drama rather than BB forcing the drama.
That can be entertaining to watch as it tends to bring out the real personality of a housemate like Kavana for example who has till the last few days flown under the radar.

The importance of having drama in a highlight show is what will bring viewers in rather than watching the house all being pleasant.
Too much Drama without a balance of fun can also lead to a show feeling drawn out and repetitive so it is very important to have the drama and it needs balance of humour so its not so full on.
A show thats just full on all the time will give you a series like BB15.

I think this series was full on drama but has tried to create fun with the last task but ultimately its hard to show humor if drama is on going in the house and if its not shown then we get the conspiracy theorists moaning about favoritism.

The drama is entertaining but there is a line that should not be crossed regarding bullying because then it moves from entertainment to uncomfortable.

IMO Perez has not crossed that line, his crime is wanting all the airtime and winding housemates up..none of those is against the rules but Hopkins, and Cami all over stepped the line and made viewing uncomfortable and should have had warnings.

Your post seems to sugest that without perez the house would not be so loud and annoying yet we saw how Hopkins was trying to snuff out the harmless fun people were having trying to bond and hated it when Cheggers cracked a joke that gave me my first real laugh in the show, not because of the joke but the reaction from keith and alissa and price..so it seems its Hopkins that is sucking the fun out the show rather than Perez..Im sure if Hopkins was gone the show would see more laughter but if it was all laughs and happy happy then it would be no more entertaining than if it was all drama..this series has huge potential if they can hit that right balance this week.

After all that waffle to answer your question directly the bigger characters save the show from becoming dull and its bigger characters that pull viewers in as long as they dont resort to bullying or being miserable all the time.

I said the odd few, not all of them.

How do you know hes decent? And why is that a reason to waste money on an entertainment show? Ironic how its the viewers/voters who are the cause of a programmes downfall in ratings.

That came across quite obviously on BBBOTS. Mostly women wil be voting for Calum's looks and not so much for Calum himself. Calum himself is a practical non entity in the house. Voting for him would be like voting for a picture of David Beckham imo

Yes. Perez's antics on their own are just tedious and annoying. But the value he adds is that he creates drama and tension within the other housemates, either directly against him or against each other. e.g. Hopkins and Nadia can't stand each other partly due to Nadia's allegiance with Perez.

I think people are only voting for Callum on the polls as hes the most 'likable' but that doesn't mean he's worth picking up the phone to vote though.

I'd love it if Calum were to go (and I'm female...) - he's had opportunities in life and has wasted them - I'd be much happier if he took himself off somewhere & didn't grace my reality screen again!!!

I want him to stay because he is best.

The show was always at its peak for the series that had the most conflict/drama or comedy. Comedy is rare, though BB6 and 7 were brilliant in that department.

If people hate watching conflict, then why is this series so popular right now?”

Of course people watch for the conflict (also to see relationship developments/interactions) but when it is nothing BUT conflict...then it becomes a case of diminishing returns entertainment wise.

Seeing them have fun would be a nice relief....many here have said this. Fun isn't necessarily about comedy but shared good feelings and that's where this series falls down...not enough goodwill.
