Yes they do film two episodes on the same day, they also film two at the antique fairs. I am a regular at Hansons auctions and it is annoying when Bargain Hunt is there because the room is full of gawpers,, they have no intention of bidding, they just want to be on telly.
Bargain Hunt filming at Hanson's next week, so if not bidding please don't go.

So as not to annoy you? Their website specifically mentions that the show is filming on the Friday, so presumably they don't mind "gawpers".

Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Maybe I'll make the 200 mile round trip just to have a look.

Well, so would I-but alas I have one very good reason I can't

The restraining order Mr Hanson had served on me!

I'm sure they don't mimd Gawpers as most general people turn up to an auction with little idea of whats on offer but the more people the more chance they might fancy a bid on one of the non bargain hunt items and even like it and come back again and again- Excellent advertising for the saleroom imo

You can't just turn up and bid, you have to register and be given a bidding number. The t.v filming finishes at lunchtime and Tim and the others go off to a hotel for lunch. When the cameras pack up, all the gawpers get up and go home , leaving the room half full for the serious bidders.

Gasp! 'Twould be like kicking a kitten!!

(Sorry about the superfluity of smilies and exclamation marks. I'm normally more restrained, but I suppose it's a mark of my shock at the thought of violence against this little sweetie. From another girl. Claws out, girl-on-gi........................... Sorry; mustn't go there.

Totally agree - I turn the sound off when she is on. Thank goodness for subtitles.

She is so forced and unnatural. I don't know what she's like as an auctioneer, but as a TV presenter she is worse than incompetent.

Bring back Tim

This tweet amused me greatly yesterday:

Watching Natasha Raskin hosting #BargainHunt is like being jumped on by a demented puppy. #ComeBackTim

Does she have Russian ancestry or was she joking about her name when looking at that Russian pot.?

They might as well just show the same episode every day.

Tim does his his camp, Stuart Hall impression.

Two teams of people pay far too much for cheap tat using BBC money.

As predicted, most items sell for less than they paid for them, unless there's a silly bid from somebody who just wants to be on telly.

Contestants go home either empty handed or else with about 16 quid.

Ad infinitum.

BBC producer chuckles to himself at the way he's brought in yet another programme for about 200 quid.

I don't normally watch Charlie Ross when he is an expert on Bargain Hunt, Flog It etc, but I thought he did a good job as a guest presenter on Bargain Hunt in Tim's absence!

I would have thought it was more of a Terry-Thomas impression

Not really on topic for this thread, but it's already strayed beyond its title, and it hardly seems worth beginning yet another BH thread. I found today's edition very amusing. Old Tim could barely be bothered to try to hide his disgust at the couple who spent twenty three quid total, and neither could their "expert", the dreadful Southern. I was so pleased when they nearly doubled their outlay and the other, high spending, team lost half theirs. It's called " Bargain Hunt", Tim, not "Antiques Hunt".
