Chicken Kievs
Hello wise people of DS!
I froze some chicken kievs about 4 months ago - will they still be safe to eat? I can't remember if they said on the packet "once frozen use within 'x timescale'". Any general advice please! Thanks |

As long as they were OK when you froze them, they will be absolutely fine.

I was told the answer to this ages ago, by someone who ran a professional kitchen.
He said the reason they give a timescale to use within, is because the food is still safe to eat, if frozen in good condition (as posted above) but the taste of the food deteriorates if kept frozen for too long. |

that's interesting, thanks for that - I won't expect too much out of it then (at least I might be pleasantly surprised that way!), but at least I'll have some more space in the freezer!

Remember to cook them before trying to eat them.
