13 months of the Carters
Hard to believe the Carters have only been in for just over a year. They fitted in so easily.
Tonight's episodes showed great acting and writing. Great drama. Hard to believe Timothy West was in CS just a few months earlier and how they wasted him. I'm a long time Corrie fan but the past year has been dire. They need a new EP who can bring back the drama that's always been there with the right balance of humour (and not the silly, stupid, banal storylines) |

Tonight they truly showed their worth. Top nitch acting from the Lindas, Annette, Tim, Luisa and Kellie. Even both the Dannys stepped up the mark a bit.

They've only fitted in as they were a unit and thrown in the vic. Most the stories and screen time have been given to the likes of mick and Linda and they've been force fed to us to make us think how awful the show would be without them. Cannot stand either of those two now. The kids need to mingle more with the rest of the square. We rarely see lee with whit and Nancy is only ever in family stuff. Johnny was the only one who got some friendships but was still forced to drop having a social life with them to cheer Linda up.

I feel like I've just eaten 13 christmas dinners in a row. You're full up, but they keep shoving more on your plate

The Carters were great tonight. I also liked Max who has shown another side to him. I hope he gets to keep the garage.

I hate to think how the square would have been without the Carters

The soap needs renaming because it's fast becoming The Carter Show. Enough is enough.

Yeah terrible ain't it. And all those awards at the NTAs. And record viewing figures. And great acting, writing and storylines.
You want it back as it was 2 years ago?? EE isn't back to how it is just because of the Carters. It's because of DTC. I don't see why there is such a divide between Carter fans and non-Carter fans. You all preach like hell about it, too. "It's not EastEnders it's CartEnders" "Yes but EastEnders would be rubbish without the Carters it's got good ratings because of them." Shush! |

Only 13 months? I thought it had been 10 years with all their storylines
![]() Tonight showed how amazing the writing for them is and how great all the actors can be. Well done all those involved

Sick of them . Give them their own show and let DTC be in charge of that , not interested in any of their stories and their six million secrets .

They're pretty much all brilliant but I'm fed up of the overkill kind of... And I think it was ridiculous Danny won an NTA over Kellie, Verity Rushworth and especially Nikki Sanderson just because he's Danny Dyer. He is good, but still...
I think that it's unneeded for Shirley to be his mum. The secrets are dramatic/shocking enough as they are. |

I'm loving them. I hadn't watched EastEnders in a few years, but honestly all the storylines they've given the Carters have me hooked. And the fact that they're not Mitchells or Beales or Cottons or (god forbid) Brannings makes them all the better. Yes, they're related to Shirley, but they're very much a new family unit and I think the square needed that to freshen it up. Kudos to DTC.

They are starting to get on my nerves tbh. Getting FAR too much screentime, its getting a bit too much now
Also the Slyvie character is being very poorly written because she is meant to have dementia and then she sits there and evidently remembers everything. They just throw in the odd line of her saying ''Is Shirley still pregnant'' or something to try and remind us she has dementia |

Dtc should have wr old slot for the Carter show. 2 episodes this week all carters and they've been none stop since mick and Linda returned and they won't stop either. It's only a matter of time until their pushed into shabnams.
Eastenders needs to focus on all characters not a select few. Get a new ep and let dtc run the Carter show. |

Too many storylines in too short a space of time, means far too much stuff crammed into one episode resulting in less of an impact. Sometimes less is more.

People complain at their dominance, but at least they are an interesting family. Stan without a doubt makes them extra special, so I do fear when he dies, whether my interest in them can be sustained. What storylines will they be given? I'd like to see Nancy get something big to do. It's her time to be in the spotlight now.

I don't think their fantastic, but I don't loathe them either.
Credit to the Carter family though, I've never known a family fit in so well without facing harsh criticism first. Even the Slater's were hated when they first arrived. As for the Nazir's on CS well... lol. |

to be honest I am a little fed up with them right now
secret after secret after secret............. *yawn* its not The Carter Show! take last night for instance - after EVERYTHING that was revealed DTC has to go one step further and add on Stans request for assistance in helping him die - its just too much all at once! Everything is just being chucked at the audience, its one thing after another without coming up for air I had lost interest in last nights episodes by the beginning of the second one |
