27.99 pm for 10GB data. 156quid cash back (seems simple enough).

How bad did I screw up?

In my view you didn't

I'm on the 12month £27.99/m plan for 10GB but SIM only without a phone. It works very well.

It's a good plan, I'm also on it, (I managed to get it for £16.79 a month), haven't missed the one plan at all, better speeds and better coverage, I haven't found any downside yet.

My sim comes tommorow, I tried an EE sim in most places, but some places I didn't have the chance.

If I had decent 3G on three its safe to say I'll get the same on EE?

Pretty much. Congestion might mean slower 3G speeds in some places, but by and large you'll now get a very similar 3G experience as Three, but more chance of a far better 4G experience.

In my usage, I have seen better 3G performance with EE, some will argue that can't be possible but it is happening, while I needed a Home Signal at home with Three, I have a good signal on EE, same in at least 4 or 5 other locations I visit or work at.

Yeah currently EE are everywhere where I am in a 4G capacity (not sure of indoor). Yet three have 1 mast nowhere near anything.

How did you get kicked off the plan? I guess your minimum term was already up!

Likely to be because of this:

But the thing for me is that service has fallen in quality quite drastically, but it wasn't like that before. I don't have a shortage of masts and I'm quite lucky in that over 50% of the places I go to (for work or social) have 4G.

Yet now I have these new blackspots, and times where the phone just disconnects until I wait for data to return or toggle flight mode. Speeds are down too.

I really can't think of a time I felt concerned about going out with my phone on the basis that it might let me down just as I need to use Google Maps or check the times of a train/bus. Last Thursday I was let down as I needed to meet someone, who told me the name of a pub on the phone (which worked fine) and I said I'd Google to find it rather than take directions.

Then when firing up Maps, I realised I had no data! Luckily for me, I had another phone with an EE SIM and that worked just fine.

Why would Three offer a good voice service but no data? That's the kind of **** I had to put up with on Orange before it became part of MBNL. It drove me up the wall.

I did exactly the same, except I jumped before I was pushed.

For me, EE's 4G has been a revelation and I haven't had one moment where I miss 3 at all.

I haven't heard anything from Three about my One Plan yet but in preparation i went through my last 6 months usage.

With my old Three "Sim Zero" account which is still active i calculated that in the past 6 months my usage would have only cost about 20p more on my most expensive month. The rest of the time it would be significantly cheaper (most months only costing me the £5.11 for the 2GB Internet add-on, which gave me 4GB when i added it for some reason).

So i'm going to cancel my One Plan and switch to Sim Zero.

£28 for 10gb data?

I just moved from Three** to "NOW PAYG" sim for £15 per month with 10gb data. (£13 p/m less!) I do believe they also use the EE network.

**I needed something that will give me a signal in the sticks when I'm out there. Three doesn't. So I'm trialing NOW for a moth to see how they are.

They are cheaper because you are on a little known MVNO (who probably get much lower priority on the network), don't get 4G and can't tether.

I am the one who screwed up, I am on the 2 gig package, although 2 gig will be enough for me the vast majority of the time, it hurts knowing i could have got 10 gig data for the same monthly price just by paying a bit more upfront, but EE wouldnt let me shift over.

I also probably should have looked for cashback offers before signing up as well.

Having used Now Mobile, I see no difference in data speeds compared to EE's own data speeds so not sure about the prioritisation, also Tethering does work absolutely fine (of course no 4G).

I'm interested in getting this, with the cashback. Was it direct from EE or a retailer? Do you have a link?

EE probably has the capacity not to notice any priority in normal use, that doesn't mean it won't change in the future.

Is tethering allowed or are you breaking the terms by doing so?

Well EE reckons it has 4G coverage in 300 Towns, there are 936 Towns in the UK, so NOW mobile will probably still appeal to those who live in the remaining 636 Towns which still don't get any 4G.

Given we first appeared on Three's "4G by the end of 2014" list, then were removed and now don't appear at all on their 2015 list, I would think that NOW mobile would be a safe bet in this area for quite some time to come!...years probably.

As NOW mobile will appeal to the many who only have a 3G device even if they live in an area that can receive 4G.

I will only switch to a 4G device when it becomes the main standard, provided I can receive 4G when it can be received here. I'm happy enough with 3's PAYG so there's no need for me to change right now.

Yeah thats where it came from.

Came next day, activated immediately. Transferring number (Should happen monday).

I took it to work to properly bench it, at my desk it's identical 3G.
On the crapper I get the same awfull 3G, but I can force 4G and it's usable on EE.

Win Win, I also travel to villages and the country alot, hoping 2G comes into it's own!

Also, just looked back over 12 months on three.

I use 4-6GB most months and only once went over 10Gb and that was all tethering when my home broadband went down.
