Cool. I'll get the correct size for my note 4 then and pop into store if I need to change it

I'm thinking about this deal too. Just wondering though, do you notice if it drops down to 2G very often? Part of the attraction for me with 3 is the lack of 2G - I use my phone mainly for data so 2G is more of a hindrance than a help.

Cheers.

EE issues SIM cards that work all three sizes (mini, micro, nano) depending on which bit(s) you pop out.

In fact, if you don't pop them out then they'll probably fit a Motorola 5200 or similar!

I'm sure if you need to change, just request a replacement SIM and that's how it will come.

Buy the order page on mobilephonesdirect asks which sim you want. So are you saying there is just one sim with three different pop outs?

Just lock your phone to 3G only/WCDMA only mode?

That's how all the SIM cards I've had from EE of late have been. I bought a few PAYG SIM cards in the past, and then five Dan & Phil SIMs.

You get the usual credit card, with a pop out mini SIM, and inside that you can pop out the micro SIM and, again, a nano SIM. There's no holder* so if you mess up, you'd need to tape it to the rest of the 'surround'.

In the past, I believe there were separate mini/micro SIMs and a nano SIM, but that stands to reason as there didn't used to be a nano SIM size.

I expect that's why some sites (perhaps even EE's site) still asks.

* You can buy third party holders to upsize a SIM after if you need to, but be wary of how they can get stuck in some slots.

They actually go back together very well (in my use). I've had them down to nano and then all back together in a minisim or micro sim phone without any problems.

I already have a decent adaptor which 3 stores give for free. I'll ask for nano as at least I can upside it easily. Thanks
Also how much do we increase prices each year?

I've got an adapter too, but it adds a very little extra depth and it could (note could) get stuck.

I know because it happened, and I was lucky I could use tweezers to get a grip and pull it out!

I've not seen it drop to 2G once yet.

I'm hoping 2G helps me make calls and texts when in smaller villages / country! Probably struggle with data and could force 3G in those instances.

Thanks. I've noticed the same when using an EE sim in my iPad so pleasing to see the same in a phone.

Now do I stay with 3 on my £15 per month with unlimited everything (4GB tethering) or make the switch? To be honest though, I'm still pretty happy with 3 so think I'll hold fire for now and see what happens over the next few months..

That's the problem I have with the EE sim I'm testuing. I use music streaming apps and in the areas I use most there is generally no issues using Spotify or Tunein etc on Three. I find in some places where Three maintains 3G EE drops to 2G and I can't use these apps. I've visited these places often over the past couple of months and the result is always the same.

I'd have stayed but being pushed to 4GB tethering with a much higher monthly rate.

EE can offer a better service.

I just called Three and was offered (all on 12 months sim only, £3 extra if you want a rolling monthly):

600 mins unlim text 1Gb data £10 a month
200 mins, unlim text, unlim data £15 a month

and a £20 tarriff. I forget the full details, but I think it was 4Gb data + unlim min/text

Not a heavy user but I find EE data speeds a lot faster especially in the evenings, so do I go on their £27.50 sim only tarriff which works out at around £16 after mobilephonesdirect cashback .

I still got the PAC code.

What plan were you on? The £15 deal?

Yes. I average around 1-2 gig most months and the most I every used was last summer when i was streaming the world cup around 5 gb in a month. I rarely tether but it's nice to know you can do it as it was a lifesaver to use with the iPad last summer on holiday.

Yes thanks for that. Just thinking between that and the slightly cheaper £15.99 2gb option which after cashback is just less than a tenner per month

I'm torn at the moment. Who offers better value, EE or Three. And whether EE's next phase of offers/plans will be any better.

Of course it all depends on the reception where you go to in your daily travels, but i would say EE is the better of the two at this very moment at least where I live. Although EE is nowhere near as cheap as what we paid for the One Plan over the past year

Just tried to stream top gear on iplayer. Started buffering straight away. Speedtest shows a dismal 0.2mbps.what a joke. Unlimited data and tethering is fine but is useless when you can't use it.

I'm off to EE but need to decide between the 2gb and 10gb package.
