Well, it's mostly potato. Mostly.

Is this really new?

I saw a programme years ago that showed how they make their fries.

Then again I thought a sugar additive was always added yet the UK guy said it's only added at the start of the potato season? Wouldn't they be sweeter anyway at the start of the season?

It's not new, and it's not relevant to the UK either. Bore off.

Well it was new to me so thanks Eugene. Think the last poster needs to read the bit in the t's and c's about treating other forum users with respect btw

Sadly the only thing of interest is that they gave up frying them in beef tallow due to pressure from interest groups (ages ago, not recently) and now use a beef flavoring instead to give them a similar vibe. Man, their fries were good back in the day.

They taste nice so I don't really care what they add to them.

I like chips fried in dripping but if you can't serve veggie fries then as a business you have a bit of a problem.

The title should have read 'Ever Wondered What's In American McDonalds French Fries?'.

Some people won't read to the end and see that the UK branches usually use potatoes and oil.

I think this info has been on their respective websites for a few years anyway.
