What VPN to use for Blu-ray player based Netflix ?
Hi all,
I bought myself a Samsung BD-H6500 blu-ray player earlier today and was wondering what VPN would be best to use for Netflix ?. Also once I am signed up to a VPN and changed DNS settings, will I still be able to access UK content like BBC iplayer etc, or would I need to revert back to the original UK settings. Many thanks

You'd need a smart dns not a vpn mate as your blu ray player wouldn't support vpn but would support smart dns, for a first timer on smart dns i strongly recommend unblockus https://www.unblock-us.com/ you can grab a free 7 day trial.
With unblock it's a simple case of setting your dns and away you go, yes you can still use bbc iplayer etc too. |

Thank you very much for the info. The only thing I don't understand is that on http://support.unblock-us.com/custom...rticles/963325the site it says that apps on the smart hub are still region locked and that you would need to reset the settings to get access to the UK apps.

![]() Do it in this way and it will work: 1) Login to Netflix through the app before changing DNS. Once logged in, exit the app (do not log out). 2) Sign up to Unblock-Us 3) Change the DNS settings on the blu-ray player 4) Select the region you want to watch by using the Unblock-us Region switcher 5) Wait about 30 seconds to a minute and relaunch the Netflix app. You should now see the region you selected in step (4). |

UnblockUS is great
![]() The region switcher is also very handy - no need to keep switching the DNS settings back and forth to change regions like in the old days. |

Well I checked out Unblockus & signed up for their free trial. To my amazement the DNS settings worked on both my PS4 and Blu-ray player. Now not only do I have Netflix USA on both of my main devices, but can also load BBC Iplayer without needing to make any region selector changes on the website. By all means I don't know what will happen to the inserted DNS settings after my trial runs out, but for the moment everything works.
Thanks again everyone

For unblock-us is US content just added to your own country's, or do you only see US? Also, can I just set the DnS part up on my tablet and send it to the TV (rather than messing with the tv)?

With the DNS usually you set it up each device you wish to use, but I suppose it all depends on how your tablet sends it to the tv. You can also set it up directly to your router(depending on which one you have) and that wil cater for all devices on the same network, just goto www.unblock-us.com and follow setup instructions. |
