Okay, that may be stating the obvious for some people, but her reaction to Cheggers tonight when he was upset really surprised me. Her facial expressions showed a complete lack of empathy and confusion as to why Keith was feeling so emotional.

I mean, it's fair enough for her to be slightly taken aback if she wasn't expecting it, but her incredulity betrayed a complete unwillingness to accept the reality of the moment and empathize. Instead her face read something along the lines of, "Are you for f***ing real?!"

What a sad woman.

Yes I saw that...particularly nasty but I was not surprised. She has a problem with niceness, i.e. thinks it's fake. Very sad, huh?

I must lack empathy too then because I was surprised by his tears. I think they were genuine because I haven't seen any evidence that he is fake but I also hadn't seen any particular warmth in his relationship with Alicia so the tears came from left field. Surely being surprised by an unexpected display of emotion doesn't mean one lacks empathy?

Hopkins has no soul. Stone cold and extremely vile.

It was like watching a dog when a human try's to have a full blown conversation with it......Very odd.

And yet people in the house have all said how kind and nice she is and not at all like the persona we all know her for. I did think she looked surprised at Keith's reaction but she was trying to talk to him and cheer him up so there is a bit of empathy in there somewhere

She's been gurning throughout the show, she needs to be careful, if the wind changes direction her face will...... oh too late.

I think she was trying to mock him.

Failed.

Again.

Mocking is what she does best, it's all she knows in her emotionally damaged world.

That made me laugh out loud.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here...but is it possible she was concerned about him or a bit upset herself? She does seem to frown when she's overcome or uncomfortable or is trying to stop tears from coming.

EDIT: just want to add, some blokes do this too....squirm and frown around emotionality, not really knowing what to do but feeling sympathy for the 'crier'. And she's said before she sees herself as being like a man in terms of emotions.

She may be a "sad woman" but you are reading her body language wrongly, because she was upset and trying to stop herself crying. It was mainly about herself (having to put up with Perez) and there was more anger than sadness, but Cheggers was upsetting her.

Maybe someone told her once she looks sexy when she looks at people like that.

Ah yes! It was a mocking expression - spot on!
What a nasty woman - vile and cold, ugh.

I noticed this back in the apprentice days when someone got emotional. It's the way she reacts to someone crying.
I don't think it's deliberate nastiness, she just sees it as something very strange and alien to her.
I don't think we should persecute her for it, more just see it for what it is, someone who experiences the world differently and can't compute other people's tears.

"She can't compute other people's tears"

Sounds like the sort of words that describe psychos

But I'm sure she's dead normal and misunderstood

There is clearly something not quite right with her brain. The way she bursts into tears if she gets a compliment. for example.

Yes, the face she pulled was more than unfortunate but she did try to console him. And I think she was genuinely sorry herself that Alicia had gone, and not just because it meant Perez stayed.

Well she admitted herself she has epilepsy and a part of her brain is missing. The frontal lobe I think, where emotions are regulated etc.
I think as objectionable/ridiculous as her behaviour can be, I have enough understanding to afford her the empathy she is physically incabable of affording to others sometimes.

Many people are walking around with brains that produce behaviour unnacceptable to the 'norm'. It creates a cognitive dissonance where we know they can't help it, but we also can't help react to it too.

I find it interesting that she was one of the first to apply to Big Brother. In CBB she admitted to Patsy she would not walk even if they gave her all her money, because (like Perez) she craves attention,

She is a product of her upbringing and experiences.
Isn't there a British expression "Stiff Upper Lip" which she seems to have had drummed into her from an early age.

I don't know much about it but her reaction to the other women hugging her and telling her they like her, it seemed to me like it was a first for her. I felt sad for her.

Why is Cami Li so aggressive and angry, because she went to a school where she was a minority and where she was the shortest and the easiest target.

Both women are products of their upbringing, not necessary their parents but in Katie's case I feel her father loomed large. In Cami's case I feel she was threatened every day in school growing up, that can cause a lot of anger, that usually causes a lot of anger.

I don't believe a word of it, she'll come out with any old crap.

Is it a craving for attention or is it more she's been hired for a job and she's going to do that job to the best of her ability. I think it's the latter but I understand others not seeing it that way. I saw that as her saying she's not a quitter.

She wasn't trying to cheer Keith up at all. She was mocking him. Watch her face as he walks away. Pure hate. Her fave turns from that stupid head down eyes wide look to stating daggers at him. That is not normal behaviour.
