Who have been your previous favourites on bb/ cbb? I'm guessing Helen Wood on last bb. that is a given....who else have you adored ?

Hated Helen.

Thought I would hate Katie, but actually quite like her.

I could not stand Helen but think Katie is great. If anything Nadia is more like Helen imo as they both go about with their face tripping them.

I don't have a clue who Helen is as I never watched that series.

I am not a fan of Katie H I just like her and agree with a lot of things she says and am surprised how funny she is.

Of previous BB contestants I enjoyed watching I think only Rex Newmark had obvious similarities to Katie Hopkins in that he was witty, articulate, argumentative and had social/political views many DSers did not like. I have also liked Alex Sibley, Nadia Almada, Jon Tickle, Cameron Stout amongst others. I loathe everything Helen Wood stands for but didn't watch that series. From what I know of her I fail to see any similarity between her and Kate Hopkins.

nadia couldn't be less like Helen. she is controlled in her actions while Helen was completely unhinged. I think Hopkins and helen are entirely alike - helen picked her targets and abused them as hopkins does. they would get on famously.

humour is subjective I suppose.

Cameron BB4. Wonder how he would have coped with Perez's nonsense.

helen and hopkins are the ned/ chav and snooty / middle class versions of the same being. they both pick on the weak and attempted to dominate their factions in the house. they are very comparable

I really liked Hopkins before she went in the house, but not now I've seen the bullying, bitching, brow-beating side of her.

I didn't watch Helen Wood in BB although I am very aware of who she is from her legal battles. I'm not clear which of the women you think is the 'chav' as both are from similar middle class backgrounds. I agree that Katie Hopkins seeks to exploit factions within the house (as do most of the others in different ways and to different degrees of effectiveness) but I don't regard Perez as in any way 'weak'.

We all pick our favourites for different reasons. I guess Perez and Nadia fans forgive them for things that drive other people nuts and vice versa with Katie. I find her by no means perfect (none of them are anywhere near that) but an amusing and an interesting character. Helen I hated by the way, no comparison at all but again, that's just my view.

of course... it is all about opinions. I personally don't like any of the housemates in this series, I do think it is important for perez to stay, as this series will die of death without him imo.

ftr imo helen and hopkins and helen are very very similar. they have very different styles but the end game is the same

I really am struggling to follow the debate now. In the context of BB the 'endgame' is the the same for everyone isn't it? - to improve their chances of getting more/better work. Many of them also want to win. If their styles are, as you now accept, 'very different' and it is perfectly obvious that their backgrounds and life values are, why on earth should those who like watching Katie Hopkins automatically be Helen Woods fans? Isn't it pretty obvious from the lists submitted by those who have tried to answer your question about who else we enjoyed watching in the past that Hopkins 'fan' tastes are rather less stereotypical than you suggest?

Everyones end game is the same, reach the final and win, why else would a celeb put themselves through 3 weeks of public scrutiny.

My post does not say Hopkins fans have a problem with stereotyping. It does pose some questions for you to answer which you have ignored. My conclusion is that you are not really interested in any rational discussion or exchange of views but in mocking other peoples. Irony?

Why would anyone want to make comparisons? Each HM that is in the house or has ever been in the house is an individual is it not possible to see them as such? Perhaps they have certain character traits fairly similar to someone else as we all do but that still does not make us the same being.

A cynical man might think this thread is nothing more than a rather unsubtle attempt to tar people who may support (or even be fans of Hopkins) with a negative brush.

The 'I'm guessing Helen Wood' bit was just a teensey bit too obvious. Nice try though. Nice try.
