New to netflix. Just finished breaking bad which I enjoyed immensely. Any news when better call Saul could be added.

No idea when it will be added to Netflix, but the first two episodes air in the US on February 8th and 9th.

Heard a podcast (http://www.theincomparable.com/tvtm/18/index.php) where a TV critic who has seen the first two episodes says that it is sloooooooow.

First few episodes of Breaking Bad were pretty slow, to be fair.

Given Saul barely had a line in the final season of BB, i cannot see this being anything other than a massive flop

What I want to know is whether it is going to be a drama like Breaking Bad, or if it's going to be more of a comedy drama, if that makes sense. In Breaking Bad the characters were written really well and you cared about them and the show was full of tension and drama. Because of the type of character that Saul was and how he was written, he was never someone I cared that much about. Also, Breaking Bad had tension, suspense, a lot of drama. I hope I'm wrong, but I just can't see this working. I could never take Saul seriously.

In the first episode of BB
- We were introduced to the main characters.
- Walt got his first cancer attack
- Went on a stakeout with Hank
- Met Jessie
- Cooked the first batch of Meth.
- Blow up some badguys.
- And end up in his underwear, by the side of the road with a gun in his hand.

It was anything but slow...

I don't think it was slow either; I was hooked from the first episode, but I hear people say this quite a bit. Hey ho I guess that's the beauty of opinions!

it was slow, infact i found the first two episodes so mind numingly boring I gave up. Then tried to watch it again a few months ago and with the advent of all the episodes being available and managing to watch a few in one go, I finally got into it and it's my fave program ever.

Another thing to point out is that Better Call Saul is a prequel to Breaking Bad, set about 6 years before.

Anybody that says the first episode was slow is truly mistaking. There the proof right there ^^. That first episode was anything but slow, so much happened in it.

I've also read a couple of reviews where Better Call Saul is described as either 'hit & miss' or slow. That doesn't bother me because like another on here has mentioned, I also found aspects of BB slow. Series one introduced the characters & by doing this it gave a solid grounding for what was to follow & made me care what was going to happen.

Seeing as a second series of Better Call Saul has already been commissioned, it sounds like there's a lot of faith in the idea.

It's definitely something I am looking forward to.

I can see it being a disappointment.

But I'm going in with low expectations anyway on the basis that this is being made purely to try and create a hit off the back of Breaking Bad so hopefully it will surprise.

My feelings, too.

At least a new workout for my 4K TV.

But with the exception of the final episode of Series 1, the rest of the series was relatively slow. I know a lot of people who gave up during it.

I don't get the slow thing either, BB started out amazingly I thought. The whole cancer thing and the change from good guy to not so good guy was intriguing.

For me the "dip" in the show was season 3-4 where it turned an (almost) typical "gangster" show (but still very well done)
