I agree about the replacement thinghy...I mean they did it in the first Pop Idol with Darius for Rik Waller..so why not?
They probably wouldn't win anyway...so it wouldn't hurt but Christy deserves to go out on dancing, not on something that is no fault of her own. I do think Nathan will probably have to pull out next week though so we will be down to four. Loving the songs they are having to do next week btw...it was on the BBC3 show..as I am a huge musical fan..though James and Claire got the dodgy song and Joseph and Sadie the best. Not very fair, they should pull the names out of a hat or something. Still looking forward to it alot!

i was wondering how they decide who gets what songs.
last night it would have seemed that danny and jodie got the worst song, but in fact put in the best performance |

It's the same with all these things - how random is random? So many things factor in a good performance - music, costumes, dance etc - it would be quite easy load the dice in favour a couple you wanted to stay. (sorry, probably watched one to many reality show -- cynic alert!) I have to say that my favourites are Jodie and Danny (on my current/past form that's put the kybosh on them, sorry guys) but I do quite like Cem and Gemma and Jospeph and Sadie, however, I do think that Cem and Gemma and Joseph and Sadie have done well out of the dance allocation. As far as I cam remember, they have been given the dramatic, storyline-led dances or the jazzy numbers where prescision of footwork isn't such as important as performance. It was quite telling really that on foxtrot week - which was widely touted as the hardest dance to learn - the 3 couples to have to master this were the couples who were struggling the most and 2 of which were being given bad comments every week and near enough told they shouldn't be there. I wonder if Nathan and Kristy had the foxtrot would they have done so well or what the comments would have been re: footwork and technique for Cem and Gemma and Jospeh and Sadie. Putting a bouncy dance up against a staider routine also dosen't seem fair. I do think it's better now they all do at least once dance the same, it makes comparision that much easier.

completely agree
I have been arguing for more fairness in the allocation of dances (on another website - sorry) as it seems systematically that Cem and Gemma and Joseph and Sadie get the "easier" options - crowd pleasers and performance led dances. As last week's mambo performance shows, it is important to see each couple judged on the same dance, this weeds out those that shouldn't be in the competition anymore. I think that we could see a surprise exit this Sunday.......... the couples that are in there are all good and the votes they receive are going to be all the more important this week. I like all of them for different reasons but would prefer Danny and Jodie to win as I feel that they have the best all round ability and deserve it. Joseph and Sadie are also good, but would like them to be challenged in something ballroomy and the same for Cem and Gemma who are starting to annoy me (moreso Cem) as they can be so cocky !! I wonder if Cem put their voters off by being so cheeky with Arlene...... he really loves himself doesn't he, but I accept that they are great dancers together.

I dont think cems up himself, if any of the participants i would say Jodie, but I dont catch it very often. It must be hard when the judges are being crtitical, espepcially when you work so hard and they're the ones that put you this far in it. (particularly when they said Adam and Rebecca couldnt cut it etc-the judges auditioned them all!) The urge to be cheeky right back at them would be overwhelming. |

As much as love to watch Danny and Jodie i honestly think that Christie and Nathan/ Toby could be the ones to watch, they are the dark horses of this competition. Christy is a fab dancer she holds herself well she can take to any style of dancing and whats more she doesnt have a lot to say. nathan is also a brilliant dancer and can adapt to any stle and again is not a mouthpice. I think Gem and Gemma have come to to the end of their reign, they think they can nothing wrong but the judges see otherwise, they also think their personality will win the competition for them, they have well and truely blown that i think with their over confidence shall we say. Joseph ans sadie need to be careful to as they are slowly slipping down the same path, and Claire and James are just plodding along at their own pace, they are very likeable though.
I have to say though it one of the reality tv programmes i have enjoyed watching i do hope there is another series. |

Thank the Lord Gemma and Cem have gone.
I feel they will be in the porn industry soon. Cem has that cheap, tacky, sleazy look that just makes me want to heave. Goodbye and good riddance to them both.... |

Couldn't agree more, you are so right. Cem reminded me so much of Darius, enough to make one want to vomit. So pleased to see the back of them. Sadie and Joseph's Dirty Dancing number was fabulous, and I just love James and Claire. |

Right result tonight...cem totally lost this competition for Gemma with his big mouth!
Of who is left I reckon Christy and Nathan may go next week. I would not be surprised if Sadie and Joseph and danny and Jodie were the final two..they were both in a class of their own tonigh (though I do love Claire and James). It will be interesting to see who wins, as unlike 'Strictly Come Dancing' both shows, which won on personality and dancing....i.e....Denise Lewis got a few backs up so didn't win, even though Jill was a better dancer IMHO and series one, Natasha wasn't so popular personality wise as Chris was, but wasn't the best dancer...with the final guys on this show..I really do think it will go to the wire of who dances best on the night, as none of them have been particularly obnoxious and are all great dancers. Too close to call I think. Though I have wanted sadie and Joseph to win from the auditions as I think they are sassy (and tonight..did you see his chest..irrelevant as I was strictly going on their dancing up to then!! )But Danny and Jodie are really coming through...oh I don't know!!!!

I know I should be going just on the dancing, but Sadie is acomplete turn off during the BBC3 shows. She's so desperate to win at all costs, it's off putting.
I would love to see Danny and Jodie win it, just to deflate her. (meeeoowww), but I have a soft spot for Joseph, oh, and Clare. Maybe they should form a new partnership so I could have my ideal couple. ![]() Why isn't this more popular? Anyone got any ratings figures? I've been hooked since they finished the auditions. It doesn't matter that I've two left feet and couldn't dance to save my life. It's fascinating to watch. I just wish there was live streaming.

I felt a bit sorry for Cem and Gemma tonight - I think the judges kinda created a monster with them, by bigging them up in the early stages and then Cem and Gemma started to believe their own hype. It's alright saying they can only do the showy dances, but they were the only kind of dances they were given to do! - although Cem was more David Seman than John Travolta tonight it has to be said!
Another thing, when Joseph and Sadie dance the judges say technique isn't important but then spend the time telling the other couples how important leg lines, etc are - make your mind up guys. It'll be interesting to see how they get on in the waltz, 'cos that'll be the first ballroom, technical dance they've had. I wonder why, as well, that the only clip of the original dance that was shown was for Jodie and Danny? |

It also highlights the power of the VT before the dancing and how - should they wish to do so - peoples perception and votes can be swayed.(They do generally seem to do it when they feel a couple is vunerable what with Claire and her dad and Cem and his aunty from Australia or is that just me?) My main problem is that you can start voting straight away. To me, this weeks dances have gone now and been marked, and so to vote now would be to vote in retrospect (I wonder how many of Nathan and Kristies votes this week were cast through the week as a sympathy-vote carry over from last Saturday). If you're voting purely on personality fine, vote through the week but if it's a dancing competition how can you vote in advance for a dance you haven't seen yet? Thought Joaquin Cortes looked like Cem's twin tonight.
I cant abide said Joaquin. If Cem had won, would he have morphed into him?I agree with mindyann. Arlene hyped them up to the hilt and I think they were in a lose lose situation after their Charleston. I liked them in the up tempo dances. They just weren't versatile enough. |

I agree about the fact that only one movie clip was shown...if you didn't know the rest (I did but only cos I am a musical fan) you wouldn't know if they were doing it right or not. It did seem a wee bit biased. On the other hand they danced the best whatever so would have done anyway....clip or no clip.
As for the VT's before..I don't take much notice of them, I did have a lump in my throat with Joseph tonight, but only as it is close to home, and I have voted for them every week anyway. If another person had had the same VT it would have made no difference to me on a show like this I don't think. I really do go on the dancing and only go off someone in these shows if they become too arrogant e.g....Cem this series and Denise Lewis the last...other wise I just make my mind up on how they do..I think alot of people do that (apart from the Christopher Parker time..but even then he didn't win. )My biggest disappointment was that they said on BBC3 that the group dance was to be 'America' from West Side Story (my favourite dance) and they changed it to 'Fame.' Anyone who dances in the costumes they gave them tonight for that, and looked good, deserves to go through!

The point I meant to make was why did they only show Jodie and Danny's musical clip - was it because they were the only ones who came anywhere close to the original. Let's face it, if they'd shown the Saturday Night Fever one it would have just made Cem and Gemma look worse, although for me Joseph and Sadie weren't as good as their marks suggested and showing the actual film track would have shown that up. Agree about the swap from West Side Story to Fame and the costumes - I think wardrobe were having laugh - Nathan in his peach sparkly shorts - I bet he was glad he could still take part when he saw them! |

The 'Dancing through the Dark' number was bizarre as I love that bit from 'the bandwagon' and it is quite sensual, whereas they just smiled all through it. They said on BBC3 last week the couples had to study the films and dance like them. I was a bit disappointed by Claire tonight in that aspect as she just grinned all the way through the Julie Andrews number, and in the film it went from smiling to passion! I am looking forward to their dances next week though..i reckon Claire and James will be great jitterbuggers! So true about those peachy shorts......ewwwwwwwww

Danny and Jodie must surely win this, pleased Gem and Gemma, big and bigger head that is, are gone,Sadie and Joseph are also going in the same direction too, sadly.
i thought Christy and Nathan were judged too harshly though and Claire and James are loveable, not so sure the dance company who will eventually get the winnners, will be interested at anything other than the couples ability to perform though, and thats the way it should be. |

however, sadie and joseph just seem so full of themselves. sadie is bossy and joseph thinks he is a star already. i can't see them not being in the final though. the judges scores last night were reflective of who they wanted in the final, they knew the dances wouldn't have a chance to make a difference. |

I'm glad Cem and Gemma went out too. At first I thought he was ultra-arrogant as a sort of joke, but actually I think he was just ultra-arrogant. Gemma was OK but she did pull some very odd faces!
I think the contest is definitely between Sadie and Joseph and Danny and Jodie. Joseph is a brilliant dancer, but he shouldn't keep playing for the sympathy card - he doesn't need to. Jodie and Danny were great on Sunday - she is soooo elegant. She must have the longest arms and legs! I like James and Clare though - especially James, he seems to be a really nice guy and very supportive of Clare. I'm afraid it will be Kristy and Nathan out next week. I think she's a better dancer than him, and they just don't have the charisma of the other couples. |
