Fall Out Boy - American Beauty/American Psycho (new album)

Has anybody listened to the new album by Fall Out Boy yet?

I've gotta say, I'm quite impressed. I don't think it's quite as good as 'Save Rock and Roll' (which I think now will be their peak) but it's a lot better than I expected. I'm a big FOB fan, but I was hugely negative after hearing 2 of the 3 promo singles before the album's release. I thought 'Centuries' was fantastic, but 'Immortals' and the single of the same name of the album 'American Beauty/American Psycho' were severely lacking, and I thought the album would follow in the same vain.

But it's actually very good. There are a couple of mediocre tracks, but there are songs that are also pretty brilliant, with favourites being 'The Kids Aren't Alright', 'Twin Skeletons', 'Favorite Record' and 'Jet Pack Blues'. It's also interesting to hear how strong Patrick Stump's vocals are these days. The only negative on some of their earlier stuff such as 'From Under The Cork Tree' is that Stump often sounded a bit weak, but he's certainly become a very good vocalist.

Yeah love it!

I do prefer Save Rock and Roll too but think it's another great album from them.

I hate American Beauty/American Psycho, it just sounds shambolic. But all the other tracks are great. They are all anthemic pop rock gems that are hard to dislike. Patrick sounds great.

Fourth of July is my fave.

Shame they just missed out on their first #1 album here but it is going to be their 3rd #1 album in the states!

I love the album, every song just sounds big and like an anthem. I do agree Immortals is lacking but apart from that, it is a great album as a whole. Twin Skeletons is an amazing way to finish the album. This is actually my favorite album besides Folie A Deux.
