Has anybody listened to the new album by Fall Out Boy yet?
I've gotta say, I'm quite impressed. I don't think it's quite as good as 'Save Rock and Roll' (which I think now will be their peak) but it's a lot better than I expected. I'm a big FOB fan, but I was hugely negative after hearing 2 of the 3 promo singles before the album's release. I thought 'Centuries' was fantastic, but 'Immortals' and the single of the same name of the album 'American Beauty/American Psycho' were severely lacking, and I thought the album would follow in the same vain.
But it's actually very good. There are a couple of mediocre tracks, but there are songs that are also pretty brilliant, with favourites being 'The Kids Aren't Alright', 'Twin Skeletons', 'Favorite Record' and 'Jet Pack Blues'. It's also interesting to hear how strong Patrick Stump's vocals are these days. The only negative on some of their earlier stuff such as 'From Under The Cork Tree' is that Stump often sounded a bit weak, but he's certainly become a very good vocalist.
