She's dire in every respect.

she does
They know in that house what Perez is doing, and how he's playing BB - shame few realise the significance of Katie's comment on here - that's how he got rid of those who he knew were stifling his 'act' and gameplan in that house !

She's not at all funny. He is occasionally humorous.

What is hilarious is how his childish antics can make all the others blow their tiny little minds and lose all semblance of control.

Perhaps. When she has a few days to think about it, and come up with a clever comeback. What she can't do is think on her feet.

Precisely. The launch night proved that with her far from witty comments on each new housemate arriving.

She's clearly dependant on ghost writers for her columns and stints on This Morning.

At least you accept that Perez is a manipulator. Now just notice how malicious and calculating it is, and how he tries to provoke the HMs he targets into doing or saying something he can run to BB about to try to get them thrown out.

I agree. She's said two things that I thought were witty the whole time she's been in there: the "paedo and speedo" comment in a debate with Alicia, and her VJ being a "battered daffodil".

Otherwise, just a lot of wincing and cringing from me.

And this is supposed to be her day job. Even Cheggars is funnier and his gags come from Christmas crackers.

But her day job is just pretending , she's a pantomime villain - and in the House she's just irritated by a looney blogger who's notorious for his windups and aggravating others , pursuing them relentlessly - and true,............she's not always funny, but she's had her moments on BB and is a great HM , positive or negative she's generated FMs to put up lots of threads about her !

Well, that's no doubt because she's never been a single parent. She seems to prefer to take up with the next guy before she lets the last one go. She must think everyone ought to do that, too.

That's what she does in the peace and privacy of her own room. Thinks up 'pithy' one-liners and then waits for an opportunity to dredge them out.

This is how I feel too.

My teenage children find her very funny though.

She has no spontaneity and no imagination. Most of the posters on this forum could do what she does standing on their head - there's nothing to it.

But most couldn't carry off what Perez does.

The forum has split now, and rather than a 'good v evil' devide, the divide is down to who we find entertaining or funny. Both Perez and KH are 'evil' characters (rather than 'good') so there is not really that much to debate. Humour is subjective, and their respective behaviours are both as bad as each other.

Much, much more funny than Perez! She would be great in the secret room!”

She was in a secret room at the beginning and she wasn't very funny then, just borishly struggling for quips with all the will in the world, she could not produced.

She is negative and sucks the joy out of a room. I get a feeling of claustrophobia watching her, but not Perez, just a light smiley mood. His banter with Nadia is much more natural - where as Po-face is just plain nasty, no, not funny at all.

Her job is being a caustic wit who creates offence. She's got the second part down but the first? Not so much.

I've seen little evidence that her "pantomime villain" act is all pantomime. The exaggerated 'performance' and grandstanding doesn't convince me. She's been pretty horrible to watch on several occasions, even in her quieter moments, and seems to stand by most of what she says regardless of how it's delivered.

As for generating threads...yep, I agree, she certainly does that. But so did Helen Wood and not many called her "a great HM" because of it.

I'm watching the HMs, I don't care what they do outside, but obviously with Katie H, she's known for her strong opinions and has talked about those in the house, but she's also showing so much of her real self, that it's taken over her pantomime villain persona , and that's all a performance, how she earns a living - she's standing up to Perez, and why shouldn't she ! I don't know anything about 'Helen' so I can't comment on her.

But as Katie H said , people choose to taken offence, and there's so many like her on radio too , I don't see why what she says bothers people so much, I don't take anything she says seriously or personally !

She's the irritating old Auntie who is painfully unfunny and aggravating. The whole family have to pull straws to see who gets lumbered with her at Christmas. She is unusual though in that she managed to get married and have children, usually they are still single well into their forties on account of not quite being a full shilling.

I posted in another thead some time ago about Hopkins and was jumped on/ met with a group of people who made the frankly ludicrous claims that she was not intelligent and not funny in the slightest, ever.

Both of these are, of course, a total nonsense.

All this told me was that some people have such an over the top, irrational dislike even hatred for her that they will ignore any evidence/ testimony to the contrary, and cannot look at their panto villain/ evil person with any sense of perspective whatsoever.

When compared to the other HM's like Kav, or Calum etc she's is head and shoulders above them re wit and intellect, and people that slam Hopkins for having no humour cannot for the life of them justify it, especially when comparing her to these type of housemates.

Trying to debate with some of the more rabid anti Hopkins types is akin to banging your head against a brick wall, so good luck with this one OP.

If you compare like for like Calum Kav, then that is a different ask. The question is: is she funny, not everyone has the same sense of humour.

Just to add, banging on about how someone 'can't see' the delight she is, is akin to how she behaved with Alicia and now Nadia - in that they 'should' do as she says.
