I don't remember what the C4 forum was like back then (if I ever knew), but here there was considerable anger at the way Shahbaz was treated -- once it got to the point of such things as organised attempts to "send him to Coventry", or taking his clothes while he was in the pool (then typing the door shut) -- and many people saw it as bullying.

However, Shahbaz also behaved in very objectionable ways and was unstable and very difficult to live with. It's not clear that there's any good solution to a HM like that, unless BB steps in. Some of the worst things he did seem to have been forgotten over the years (at least they're rarely, if ever, mentioned). Nor is that all that's often forgotten. For instance, many people remember the time when George was the only HM not to walk out of the room when Shahbaz came in, but then don't remember that George was one of the ones who took his clothes. Even back in 2006, many quickly seemed to forget how bad Richard had been, while Sezer's part is usually remembered or even exaggerated.

While there are of course similarities between what's happening now in CBB and what happened in the early part of bb7, there are also significant differences. For instance, back then pretty much every HM was involved in deplorable behaviour towards Shahbaz at one point or another; even a HM who behaved especially well at one point, might be one of the worst at another (as George illustrates). It's not like that now. A few HMs are going too far in how they react to Perez or in trying to give him a taste of his own medicine, but most aren't.

So why liken it to Shahbaz in bb7 rather than to one of the times when a minority of the HMs went too far against one? I think the main reason it seems the right comparison is that Perez's own behaviour has been so bad and may seem similar to Shahbaz's. But I think Perez is much more in control of what he does and much more deliberately provoking and winding up. Shahbaz was taunted; but Perez has been taunting. In bb7, it was Shahbaz who felt he couldn't continue and left the show; in this CBB, it was one of Perez's targets.

Unfortunately, BB won't step in because BB wants the "drama". BB is, if anything, even making the situation worse by giving Perez this "secret room" twist. But if BB did step in, it should be against both "sides". BB should have done something about some of Shahbaz's behaviour, as well as something about the way he was being treated; and (with imo even more reason), BB should do something about Perez, as well as about some of things done towards him.

The other thing is the tweet is rather like a Sun headline - ie misleading

That tweet is somewhat different to "Nadia comes across as very likeable and in the house she’ll be very useful”.

So I am on Perez's side in this instance and also Katie's crack about her children having two parents was way below the belt.”

Yes i agree.

Perez is irritating and over dramatic but I'm on his side re the tweet. Talking about Nadia, saying that she would be useful in the house due to her practical nature, ie good chef etc so a good housemate in that way is very different to expressing his intention to Use her.

It has been taken out of context and could have done a great deal of harm to their relationship.

Katie's comment about 2 parents was a low blow and her implication was clear.

I haven't forgotten about Perez saying if he were her child he'd kill himself but that was in direct response to Katie and Nadia discussing reprimanding him if he was their child. He wasn't saying that he thought her children should go kill themselves. Just how he'd feel if he were her child due to his intense dislike for her. Not everybody has to feel the same.
