I have a HTC One M7, but I need a new phone now. As much as I love HTC, I am looking for a phone with a removable battery.
I have seen an LG G3 online, it looks a good phone, good specs and it comes with dual sim for £350.

I will miss a lot of HTC features; Sense, Blinkfeed, Zoe, Speakers, the great HTC music player and the stunning look of the phone. I would wait until the M9 is released, but it looks like they will once again not have a removable battery (something I really want in a phone) and I can't wait for the G4 to be released as I need a new phone asap.

Does anyone own a G3 (or gone from HTC to LG G3) is it still worth buying, are the specs better than HTC M7?
Also, how does the camera compare with other phones around today and what is the music player like? (I love HTC music player)

I own one, it updated to Lollipop in December officially and it runs really nice. The camera is one of the best things, 4K video is great and comes out really well when played on my 4K laptop or TV.

The 2K screen is not as vibrant as other phones colour wise, but the clarity and general quality of the screen is great. The processor isn't the fastest on the market, but it is very capable and good for anything you want to do day to day. The battery life is amazing and could last 2 days of real world light use or a full day for a more heavy user, none of the 4PM charging and the speaker is really good as smartphone speakers go.

Overall it's a great phone and I prefer it over the Samsung S4 I had previously. The prices have dropped so much that I would say to go for it, you probably won't be disappointed, however it has been out for a long time now, so they'll be another model out this year, but of course that'll be over £450.

The G3 is now £299 on Ebuyer, not dual sim though I don't think. http://www.ebuyer.com/645056-lg-g3-s...FanMtAod-UcAOg

Thanks for info and advice,

Good to hear about the battery, I have seen docks that charge the phone and a spare battery at the same time, which would be useful. The battery on my HTC is really struggling now, as much as I will miss HTC the specs on this LG G3 looks good.

Cheers

I'm happy with mine, although I think the keyboard on my old samsung was better.

The LG doesn't seem to have word suggestions all the time - just in certain apps.

Ive found the battery life since the Lolipop update horrendous.
Even after a reset ,it will be going when the new handsets come out in the next few months.

There was a second small update in early January with some bug fixes from Google, presumably the same fixes as the 5.01 update on Nexus phones.

I noticed the battery life on my G3 was much better after applying it.

I got that too.
As an example my battery was 86% when i left the house last night.
I watched the 2nd half of the chelsea game on skygo and battery was down to 11%.

I've got it and I love it. Camera is brilliant. A lot of people who have used it comment on how good it is. The battery is decent too, helps that it charges pretty fast too.

I have the G3 and love it. Easily the best phone for the money out just now.

Battery life is fine as well. Just what you would expect from a modern smartphone. If not used a lot i can squeeze 2 days out of mine. Normal use it lasts the day easily.

Thanks for advice / comments.

The good news with G3 is that if the battery starts to drain quickly it can be easily replaced.
I ordered it yesterday, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.
