Hope you guys can help - registered on the Roku forum but not had an email activating my account yet - cant beat trusty old DS for a fast reply.

I am attempting to stream from my table to my TV (which is not DNLA enabled) via the NOW TV box which shows up as a Roku player (2400SK v5.5 Build 430)

I downloaded the app called Play To on my tablet and downloaded the Play To channel on my NOW TV box.

I downloaded a movie app - when I select it, the screen flashes to show it loading via a bar - gets a third across and then cuts back to the Play To home screen.

Am I doing something wrong here?

I have not tried it that way. I use Miracast.

Bit of a noob - is that like a Chrome Cast?

Do they let you view a Google home page for instance and tyoe out your searches through your table - or do they all work from these 'casts / apps?'

What type of tablet do you have? Android, IOS, Windows etc.
Providing that information would probably glean you more help from those who know those operating systems.
For example if it was a Windows tablet I'd say to install Plex on it and sideload RARflix onto the Now TV box

Anyone who has a NOW TV box or Roku box maybe able to help.

I managed to access the developers page by pressing certain keypad combo's. I downloaded Firefox Beta which lets you cast through their browser.

I managed to download a zip of Firefox Nightly and install it via the development access installer. Loads up fine in my Now TV channel list - however still wont stream - I hear a sound as if it is about to - then clicks back to the home page.

Really annoying as YouTube casts fine - just cant seem to do the sites I want to like movietube. Tried their app and cast it via the Play To app - no joy and no joy via Firefox

Wondering if any UK users of a NOW TV box have managed to do it?

I can use Miracast to view a webpage on my television as well as films and music. I select them on my tablet and then click on the television icon. The television has to be made intelligent with Miracast technology.

Microsoft Smart Glass is much the same.

The YouTube app works in a slightly different way allowing you to "cast" to it on the NowTV box. If you are after casting my advice would be to pick up a Chromecast. Get one before the month is over and you'll get 3 months of NowTV ents as well.

A recent plex update allows casting of local media if plex is sideloaded on now tv, worth looking into...
