WTF is going on ?

I think these girls are so talented and can go far, but why can't they just say what's going on?

Hi there.

It would seem that they don't have a deal but are possibly stuck in their previous contract with Polydor.

There have been hints from Mutya & Keisha that something will happen this year (Instagram) but hard to tell if that is actual fact or aspiration.

We do know that the girls met recently so it would appear they are still working together. On Popjustice, some are speculating that they are waiting for their contract to expire - it's possible many of the songs that were potentially on the album have now been taken from them by the label.

None of this is concrete but I'd imagine it's not too far removed from the actual situation. They will speak when they have something to speak about - given the false starts they have had.

Hope this helps!

Almost four months since the last "coming soon" announcement.

They simply have waited too long. 2010 and they could have had a top ten single and maybe an album because the general sympathy went to Keisha over the Sugababes debacle. 2012, nobody really cared what happened with the Sugababes any more. 2013 for the single, nothing at all except empty "coming soon" announcements which turned into another "coming soon" announcement.

Basic timeline of MKS:

July 2012: Announced reforming
September 2013: Flatline released. Flatline flatlined
November 2013: 6 date tour

That has been MKS's career.

They should try and release the album independently, there are tons of artists that do that these days, at least the fans who are still waiting will get the album that way.

Exactly, something they should have done a year ago.

That's assuming they have the rights to publish their material - which I am guessing they have not had and possibly won't ever have.

Someone has to pay the producers and that's the label. If they pay the producers, they will keep the tracks simple.

So it's not a straight-forward situation to be in. I am sure if they could release they would, its of no benefit to them to just lay idle.

I suppose the one benefit is not having another 1.0/MKS flop on their record.

Well it's good to see that they are all friends . It's still weird seeing keisha and siohban friends, and from their pics, they appear to be very close.

I really hope they get the success they deserve.

Their new tracks seemed awesome :--)

I'll be collecting my pension by the time they release something.

They have left it to late, fans have given up waiting (myself included). I would not be surprised if they have had another fallout. As a massive fan of the Sugababes (mainly 2.0) I think a lot of people are over them especially with all their fall outs and line up changes, if people are interested in MKS it would be mostly for novelty/nostalgia.

If all six put their differences aside, there could be a successful TV show (The Big Sugababes Reunion for example) and a tour in it for them., Four episodes of each line-up telling their story, one episode of all six girls together, two rehearsals and probably a concert show.

MKS sadly will probably do very little this year, I've given up hope of a an album reaching us.

That would be a good idea as the Sugababes aren't doing much at the moment and it would be nice for the fans to finally got to know what happened with all the bullying/splits etc. Also it would be lovely to see the girls put all their bad blood behind them, because they probably have more chance being successful with something like that, than releasing another album.

The only problem is it won't be the full truth, it will be the pre-arranged version of the truth which we saw when Siobhan proclaimed there was no bullying after 10 years of saying Keisha was the reason she left and was a bully.

I hope it happens purely to see the spin that Keisha puts on the situation. I still believe that given the option, Keisha would rather it be MKH than MKS.

The two things that annoy me the most are 1) Siobhan is being wasted in this group, she is so talented and her solo albums were incredible, and 2) The fact that they aren't saying anything, just constant announcements of more announcements, how hard is it to tell the truth? Just post on facebook a letter explaining what the heck is going on already, stop leaving people hanging.

Exactly! If they just said what was happening, whether it's label issues or the fact they are on what I think is their fourth management team since 2012, it wouldn't be so damn frustrating.

Everybody knows the next time they speak, it will just be another "coming soon, honest" speech. And to think people said in October in the other MKS thread people who mock them for saying it's coming soon will be eating humble pie. Four months later, still waiting

I have heard, and I'm not supposed to say anything, it's "coming 'soon'". Maybe just should be the name of the album?

Probably for the best, knowing their volatile history and there isn't much point now as their fans keep dwindling day by day.

ffs this is getting ridiculous now. what is going on?!
annoyingly my clueless friend was drinking with Mutya in a club last week but being as clueless as she is she didnt ask her about MKS!

personally i think all the babes should get together for a 'super tour', lets face it, none of the 6 are doing much else, and they will bound to need the money at some point.

either way, MKS must have recorded an album, so when and if its finally out there, it better be worth the wait ! i do not personally believe that ''time'' means anything, if the musics good enough then it will be a hit whether it was released in 2012 or released now!
the only thing about it is how annoying it is to be kept waiting.,

Mutya Instagramed that they're almost ready... Hashtagging #originalsugababes. Hopefully they were claiming the name back hence the delay... In mks world, almost ready means another 2 years maybe?

I think the worst thing they could do is get the name back, like the name/brand of the Sugababes needs damaging any more.

Apparently the girls have now officially won back the Sugababes name, and will release the 8th Sugababes album in 2015 with Polydor records, a new buzz single has appeared online.
