I love that Flatline has become a "buzz single" which I think is a new term for "flop". The song, it's nice but a hit comeback single? I don't think so. It's not even as good as Flatline so I hope it's just a leaked track.

So glad we finally get music from them! Now let's just hope an album gets released too.

The link refers to a legal battle over the Sugababes name - what legal battle? I can't find any reference to this other than the news from 2011.

Apparently that's the hold up. I just hope they did it properly unlike Mutya did. Maybe they've added branded toilet roll to Mutya's stationary rights

I imagine the legal 'battle' has actually been discussions between whoever is representing MKS these days (it's hard to keep up) and Crown Management who own/ed the name. As they've never owned the name, I'd be surprised if it's gone to court to reclaim something they've never owned.

There is still time yet, there hasn't been another "coming soon" announcement yet so it could still be another year

Just been looking at the EU Trademark website, Crown are still listed as owners of the Sugababes trademark until May 4th 2020. Possible it just hasn't been updated though.

Does this Sugababes name thing matter? The new song sounds great. The timing may work out fine for a new album.

Well nothing. But it seems that's the route they want to go down so good luck to them. I don't think it will make any sort of difference to their success.

Absolutely love Back In The Day. It's a beautiful song and they sound incredible. I really hope things start to speed up now, I was starting to give up

Personally I think the Sugababes name is so tarnished after all the line-up changes and now associated with sub-par pop, they're better off without it.

Has anything happened lol? A song has leaked 17 months after their first single was released (coming close to three years after their reunion was announced) and Mutya has said there isn't even a planned date.

And as I've said to you before, the reason people believe/d nothing is going to happen is down to the girls and their management/record label saying nothing except "coming soon" since September 2013. It's their fault people don't think anything is coming.

I think #1 is a tad optimistic considering their debut album hit #26 and their comeback, sorry 'buzz', single hit #50.

WOW, I love the new song. I think it sounds just as good as Flatline!! I think the problem with Flatline is that there was absolutely no promo whatsoever apart from a few gay pride events. Hopefully this time around they'll sort that side of things out.
