Help! - T-Mobile charged me double twice after cancelling!

So I was disappointed with T-Mobile's coverage for the past few months and my renewal date was on the 26th January, so last month, I called and asked for a PAC code for myself and my son. We then switched over, last week, to another network but I was surprised to discover that T-Mobile have charged us £35 two weeks ago and £38 a few days ago (normally our monthly bill is £17.34, with both accounts under my name). So not only have they charged me twice but they charged roughly double the amount.

What is this that I got charged, we switched over before my contract end date and also told them in advance that we leaving.

Call t-Mobile and ask?

What exactly do the charges on the bill say they are for?

What type of contract do you have with T-Mobile with reference to "my renewal"date" i.e. is that when the minimum term ends ?

Is there a minimum notice period i.e. 30 days and is there any early termination charges if you port before the minimum term ends ?

You may have been billed for the notice period plus an early termination charge if you ported whilst in minimum term but that's just a guess.

It was a 12 month contract and I did get in touch with them before 30 days just in case there was a minimum notice period, and after getting the PAC code a month before the end, we ported our numbers across.

I think you need to actually port once the contract date has passed, so if your contract expires on say Jan 30th, ask for the PAC on Jan 2nd (which is giving them 30 days notice), but don't give the PAC to the new network any earlier than Jan 29th ? It's all rather tight, because the PAC would expire on Feb 1st. Don't know if you have to give it the new network within 30 days, or the entire port process has to be complete within 30 days ?

I managed to get into my old T-Mobile account and it does appear that I have been charged a MNP Early Termination Penalty. This quite frankly is bulls**t, after giving them the 30 days notice they also sent a letter with the PAC code that told us to use the code before the end date otherwise the contract would renew and the code would expire. Not to mention the fact that I transferred my number using the PAC on the 14th of January yet I was charged this MNP Early Termination Penalty on the 7th of January, before I had even decided which provider to switch to (and what if I had changed my mind?)

This appears like some kind of trap, whereby I would have been charged in advance before using my PAC, which I would have had to use before the date anyway or risk having my PAC expire and my contract renew.
