I don't agree with everything she says. I'm working class and I'm not down with her snobbery, but I'm also aware enough that I don't have to dislike someone simply because they say a few things I disagree with.
The fat comments were spot on in my opinion.
The issue of obesity is probably THE main concern in the country today, and the simple fact is that to lose weight is very simple (unless you are a rare case with some kind of medical condition).
Eating a bit healthier and exercising a bit more. It seems simple but people really do need it hammered into them and I think Katie H has done a fantastic job of getting the issue debated.
Katie H's issue with the whole thing was that she's sick of very overweight people moaning about being overweight and saying how hard it is to lose weight.
But you just need to motivation to make a bit of effort to do it. If you don't, it is quite simply your own fault.
I'd like to lose a couple of stone myself, but for me it's not a priority in life and I certainly don't go around moaning about wanting to lose weight.”
i think you are completely incorrect. the Fat jokes are just a small part of why she's horrible.
and btw, i'm medical and you are very wrong, as is KH. There are many medical conditions that make it close to impossible to Exercise/ do cardio to the level needed to lose large amounts of weight.
Add to that people who have had car accidents, bad injuries with chronic pain, Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue Viral syndrome, Any metabolic condition and there are many...... well its NOT RARE.
yes lots of people dont know how to eat properly and most people over eat. however, saying ....Eating a bit healthier and exercising a bit more... is tremendously offensive to those of us who have spent much of our life overweight but in Great shape and eating low calorie organic healthy and never losing a pound. I used to hike with dogs 2-3 hrs then get ready for work and then run all over hospital for 9 hr shift. Never lost a pound, how much more exercise would Katie H like me to do?
I myself have thyroid and other medical issues for instance. NOTHING can be done to lose weight other then overdose on the thyroid pills which is dangerous as HECK.
and anyone such as Katie H saying that anyone can lose weight easily , is lying. She isnt a trained Endocrinologist. Shes a big mouth who is naturally tall and lanky......and judgemental.
worse then that, she is going to affect young girls and boys who are having a tough time of it already.
