That was exactly my perception too.
No sane human being WANTS to be in continuous conflict. Perez's disappearance obviously calmed down the house and let people get to know each other without the tension. They even said this.
Nadia already knew that Katie was 'most entertaining', and she'd heard crowd hostility to Perez and her (Nadia) last week. So I'm not sure why now, all of a sudden, she'd become strategic when she's stuck to a 'game plan' (i.e. remaining loyal to Perez) that's earned her nothing but stress and boos.
