Her words are not meant to be taken literally. It's part of her act. Both her children are ginger. And you would never hear her insult the British public as one the way Perez did. She passes comments on various social groups but not the actual British public as one.

I think people need to realise that it's part of her act. Her words are not meant to be taken literally. It is a form of humour, a form of entertainment. She's no different to a Frankie Boyle or any other controversial comedian. She just uses a different platform to perform her material.

She has passed comment on people with ginger hair and yet two of her children have ginger hair. I think that just sums it up. It's all part of an act which is not meant to be taken literally.
"I think he might be [gay] - I mean he’s quite good-looking, like my girls aren’t good-looking but he totally is." Imagine hearing your mum say things like that to people |

To find a person funny, you have to believe that the person telling the joke is just presenting us with a warped view of life that they do not necessarily agree with or base their lifestyle on. I can laugh at Ricky Gervais' or Frankie Boyle's dark humour 99% of the time because I don't believe their comedy represents their true beliefs. I can't laugh at comedians such as Bernard Manning or Jim Davidson because their "comedy" appears to represent their true values, which I don't agree with, and therefore find more disturbing than funny. Katie Hopkins' "humour" seems to reflect her true viewpoint on life, and therefore will not be very funny to those who don't share that viewpoint, although I accept that those who do will giggle along merrily |
