Tim Cook is an idiot.
Apple have gone to hell in a hand basket since Jobs died. Apple are doomed. Whatever happened to all of that? |

I can understand why some Apple fans can be "proud" that their preferred product is selling so well (although, to be fair, I dont want to have the same phone as most of my mates) but I still fail to see the sense of "pride" in the fact that their favourite company is making so much "profit" ??
![]() In fact, no-one has said anything about pride except you. As for basing what phone you have on what phone your mates don't have - I really don't get that. So if all your mates got the same phone as you, would you feel you had to get rid of it? Even if you really liked it? Just because you don't want to have the same phone as your mates? That's mad!

no. I think you are getting confused. Profit can be ploughed back in to R&D,

improving working conditions,
What is wrong with the working conditions of Apple employees? Or are we still on Apple being responsible for Foxconn employees? Whilst ignoring the fact that, whilst things may not be prefect, they appear to taking steps to improve things where they can.Quote:

So yes, it can be used in the manner you suggest, but is it ??
Looks as though it is, so yes.Quote:

Hold on. This sounds exactly like the sort of thing that will greatly improve working conditions for Apple staff, which I thought you just said you wanted them to spend money on?

It's an asset strip. The assets were placed their under Steve Jobs, the Apple brand and concepts.

![]() Steve Jobs didn't have anything to do with the larger screen iPhone. That was all decided after he had died. He was strongly against the idea but Apple adapted and have seen their biggest phone sales quarter ever. So this suggestion that they're scraping by on Steve's legacy with no new ideas simply isn't the case. Granted.. eventually they may decline. Nothing lasts forever. But I really don't think anyone can say they're in decline now. |

You're confusing people being bemused by all the talk of Apple being doomed with somehow taking pride in anything.

Look a company is becomeing ever more scarily rich off milking their punters, I'm so happy for them I'm going to post about it
![]() Does go to show what happens when you actually give customers "what they want", just as well for Apple they did not listen to the clueless who claimed small screens were still the future ![]() Could you give us an update on the whole Apple is doomed thing? No-one claimed small screens were the future. Some people expressed a preference for a smaller screen because they found it more comfortable use, particularly with one hand. I really don't know why you have difficulty with that simple enough fact, or feel the need to misrepresent and milk it for all its worth at every opportunity. |

China and the US is their main customer base but interestingly US profit was double for prety much the same amount of sales. That seems to mean that China Telecom (or whoever that massive new dealership is) have the best deal in the world making good profits too selling the iPhone.

Such a thing is a huge asset, it will take a decade before it's obvious there is a decline. Apple is now just about using what it has and won't be creating anything really new. Anyone would think he pulled some revolutionary new product out his backside every time he walked on stage. In 15 years or so there was the Mac, the iPod, the iPhone (a bit like an iPod, but did more), and the iPad (a bigger iPhone). |

Oh how we know little.

How do you know that. I didn't think they broke down the profit figures by region ?
Anyway I qualified with that following post that I think Apple is likely not daring to evade China taxes like they do for the EU and UK. The only real shock to me is the Iphone 6 making up near half of the world total sales. It is little better than the less limiting £100+ Moto G. Silicon tech is so advanced that even smartphones are long term heading towards a 99p digital watch commodity thing, especially without them Wintel taxes. |

I wonder why they are so popular?
Well at least we know there are lot of people with substantial amounts of disposable income (economy picking up). |

A pre statement report I read a few days back. As it fairly tallied on China and totals etc I well believed it,

Which? Strongly alleged or fact? Either way, so what?
I added the alleged as its widely reported in the press but not formally confirmed. You do like to focus on odd items. |

I didn't reply about my phone. I replied about my jumper.
Who knows, maybe you think that if you say it out loud or write it down, it'll sound daft, and that's why you're talking about your jumper in the hope that nobody will notice its quite different. Either way, I'm sure you have your reasons. |

If I'd said "fact" you'd have argued as the exact details are never released by apple.

Nonsense.
Profit helps to continually improve the product and benefit the user. Profit allows greater investment in technology and facilities. It is those investments that make the products desirable. Profit is the result of providing products the user wants. Oh, and according to recent market analysis Apple has gained market share over android (and specifically high end android devices which is where they compete). It is quite sad people do this over a company who really doesn't give 2 hoots about you! |

It also appears ApplePay has started off well. Shame it all going to fail within a year ![]() Anyway, I'm not saying that will happen, but that just because its apple does not mean it will be a success like a lot have said it will be. |

They are now eating into Androids market share with bigger phones. Unlike Nokia which kept coming up with crazy phones some good some bad I feel Apple can dominate for decades to come.
Even Samsung are going back to other OS's rather than Android now. I reckon Amazon could be one of Apples biggest rivals in the next decade too. |
