If you click on "Shop" on the three website it says the following:

But not generally free (or rather inclusive minutes) on mobiles. Can someone remind me when 0800 and other 08 numbers (other than premium) will be required to be included in inclusive minutes. I am wondering when to ditch a landline that I currently only keep for such calls.

Not that it's relevent to the OPs question (as he specifically says from a landline), but a quick Google shows 0800 will be free from a mobile from June 2015.

Freephone numbers are to become free of charge from mobiles under an overhaul designed to clarify telephone call charges and dialling codes, the regulator, Ofcom, has confirmed.

The telecoms watchdog said that from June 2015, "freephone will mean free" for 0800, 0808 and 116 numbers – which at present are free only when used in a landline, and which cost mobile phone users between 14p and 40p a minute.

0800Buster

Instructions

1. Dial 0333 555 8800
2. Enter the 0800, 0808, or 0500 number you want to phone
3. Press # to start the call

You can also use 01208 34 0800 as an access number.

Well, I was actually trying to be possibly helpful as I suspected that the OP might just be using the word landline as a synonym for inclusive calls (as he didn't actually say *from* a landline).
Also, you didn't answer my question about other 08 numbers. However, a "quick Google" seems to suggest that the route that is being taken is to replace 0845 with 0345 which does come off inclusive calls.

He didn't actually say specifically FROM a landline. He asked for a landline number to call, he could be calling from either landline phone or mobile phone.

Exactly. Perhaps the OP could enlighten us as to his exact meaning ?

I'm always confused by the T&Cs & charges, so I always take a wander to the phone box these days.. No charges and some exercise into the bargain!

You could use Skype or some VoIP service to call 0800 numbers, if you don't have a landline.

So you pay line rental just so you can make free 0800 calls? How much does that "save" you each month?

I know, I know. But it's not quite as simple as that. It's actually my daughter's bill (who live next door). And it's not for 0800 numbers but 084 numbers. It's not difficult to run up £20 a month if you have long phone calls to organisations on a mobile at 35p per minute. At least I know there is a reasonable cap on the amount with a landline. And there are other advantages to a landline (cordless phones distributed around the house for one).
