Fish tank cloudy
i love sky
28-01-2015
We bought a new bubble stone yesterday for our fish tank and not long after setting it up the water has turned cloudy for some reason.

The filter has been going all night and that has not cleared it so would it be the bubble stone causing it?

Should I take 25% of the water out and put new water into the tank?

Before the bubble stone went in the water was very clear.
Absolutely

I found this on google:

Most air stones will need pre-soaking before they work effectively, leave them in a container of water for approximately 10 minutes before using them in the tank so that they will produce bubbles straight away.

Not sure if not soaked if it makes the cloudy water?

Here they talk about cloudy water.

It could be the airstone, I used to soak it for an hour before I put it in the tank, when I had a tank. Also if you have it sitting below the gravel it could have stirred up a lot of 'stuff' if is a large airstone. I would take the airstone out, let the tank settle and soak the stone in some fresh (tap safed) water in a bowl, just to be sure, if the fresh water clouds up then it is the stone of course
