EastEnders’ executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has dismissed reports that state Dean will not get his comeuppance.

Very pleased to see this!

I get the impression a Dean/Linda two hander might be on the way but if justice is to be served maybe my theory that Dean raped before or will rape again is correct. A second victim would be the only way credible evidence could be gained from here on in if its a criminal conviction they are aiming for and that would fit in with being 'shocking'.

Also interesting how he says there are more storylines coming up for the police officers. Wonder if this means he is planning to keep Alison Newman on?

It wouldn't surprise me if DI/DS/Don't Know What Rank He Is Malachy started a relationship with Lauren.

I think the justice will ultimately be Dean admitting to what he has done and Linda finding it in herself to forgive him, and maybe even helping him seek some form of counselling for what it's hinted happened to him in jail. That would be quite shocking in EE terms - it hasn't really been done before where a victim has forgiven and even tried to help their rapist, and I think it would be satisfying for the viewer as it would show Linda in a much more empowered position.

I hope it's not vigilante style justice but that's really the only other thing it could be if it's not going to court.

I disagree with DTC saying that viewers don't care about the police characters - I absolutely LOVE Keeble and want to see her in pretty much every storyline.

I like that theory. It would see Linda ultimately take the control back from Dean and as you say empower her.

Yes this is what I would like to see happen, I don't want them killing Dean off. I also love Keeble she is a brilliant character Alison plays her so well. I quite like Malachy but he has been a bit of a pain lately,

It's, IMO, the most appropriate way for the storyline to go. Killing Dean off, having him commit suicide, having Lee or Mick beat ten shades of crap out of him and then forbidding him from coming back to Walford would perhaps give short term satisfaction but I think it would waste the complex story they've given us so far. The problem is that Dean's very presence in the show is going to be triggering for a lot of viewers, and for that reason he will probably still have to leave, but I would like to see him admitting to this awful, awful thing he's done, and accepting that Linda's life will never be the same because of it. If she was to forgive him and he was then to move away, it would be emotional but it would give the right sort of closure.

Keeble is brilliant, and I definitely get the impression from Alison on Twitter that she loves playing her so I'm sure she'd welcome more of a full time role.

DCI Malachy (what even is his name?! ) could be an interesting one. I quite like his friction with Max.

DTC says a lot of things, so I'll believe his "shocking" justice when I see it.

I've got a feeling Lee might do something to him. Just the way he's been acting lately

I agree and I too hope it won't be vigilante justice.

That's disappointing. Now it definitely sounds like Dean will be leaving at the end of this storyline. I would've liked him to stay on for a while.

Yes, sadly he will leave but if he doesn't die and instead goes to psychiatric hospital it would leave the door open for Matt to return as Dean some day if and when Linda and Mick leave.

I would have liked it if they kept Dean as a Wicks instead of throwing him in with the Carters. Yes, he is essentially part of the family, but I was hoping for more Shirley/Dean scenes instead.

Mick and Lee will beat the living daylights out of Dean, I reckon. Serious damage will be done and Dean won't press charges so they will be even (sort of).

Not even close to even. If they beat the crap out of him for the next year then maybe.

It's dragged on long enough already

A sign they are doing a realistic portrayal. In real life, investigations do 'drag on'. As for a rape aftermath - there is no quick resolution to it, I'm sure the after effects would still be felt for Linda months and years down the line long after Dean leaves.

I would like to see a Dean/Linda two-hander, I think - or three with Shirley being there and hearing it from the horses mouth. I want Linda to have the power in the exchange - be it getting him help or making him leave. Him dying is too easy - he should live with what he's done just like Linda has to live with it.

He's a barber ( well, hairdresser) - perhaps they'll have a Sweeney Todd type ending for Dean. Lovely meat pies at the Vic.

That'd be shocking...

Alfie/Kat/terry got it and it got knocked into the ground and given to Shirley and Johnny and Johnny found the dog tag and it turned out to be beef with the dog tag from the floor. Someone knocked it on the floor but can't remember who.
