Patsy and the 'Northerners' comment

Apologies in advance if there's already a thread on this; but I found it very curious that Patsy remarked that she was moved only once to voice her disagreement on an issue in the house........... and it wasn't shown - at all.

From what I recall, in her interview she said that Katie H made some remark about 'Northerners' and, because Patsy has one half-Mancunian and one half-Scottish son, she felt she had to intervene.

Now I, for one, would love to have seen this and am very curious as to why they didn't show it.

Could it be that what Katie H said would have had quite an impact on her fanbase?

Probably because it was so insignificant that nobody cared about it.

A bit like Patsy really.

Because they wouldn't want to potentially alienate half the audience, innate? Can't have anything standing in the way of the Katie Hopkins redemption narrative.

Maybe it was a 'Tesco workers' moment and BB thought it too soon to show as they want a bit more mileage out of Hopkins?

It must have been something to rile our Patsy up though!

BTW I'm a Northerner and would love to have heard Hopkins's 'strong opinion' for why I'm worthless sub-human scum.

Don't take it personally. Unless you are the Queen, you've probably got something going on that Hoppy would diss you for.

And she's probably one of those who say the royal family are immigrants.

I remember during the debate task when Alicia argued with Katie for being too black and white and gave examples of some of Hopkins bigoted views, which included remarks about Northeners. I could hear Patsy kind of pipe up at this stage. There were a lot of them speaking and the camera was not on them, but I don't think Patsy said, or managed to get to say, anything significant. There is a clip somewhere on the site.

Perhaps it was something that was really significant to Patsy but no-one else really took any notice of it.

I'm sure it'll come out once Patsy has been on This Morning / The Wright Stuff / BOTS etc.

This is from her DS interview

"I think her opinions are very different to mine - about the North of England and women from the North being in chip shops and that miners losing their livelihoods was a good thing," she said. "The list goes on. But I told her that and our opinions are very different but… She was perfectly fine to me to my face."

But I do take it personally!

Not being fat, ginger, unemployed or on benefits this was my chance to have a bit of that Hopkins 'magic dust' sprinkled my way and it wasn't shown!

And I'm sure it was an incredibly subtly observed and nuanced argument from one of the leading social and political thinkers of our time.

I don"t know why anyone takes any notice of Hopkins, she is just pathetic.

She reminds of a five year old child who has been told not to do something, then proceeds to do that very thing extremely slowly maintaining eye contact all the while just waiting to see where your boundary is....is it here? is it here? how far can i push it?

I noticed this as well and I am pretty sure Alicia said something similar in the diary room about Katie H. Not sure if it's based on things she said before going into the house, but it sounded from both that it was during her time in there.
I am going to give the producers the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe because a lot was going on during that debate that it got left on the cutting room floor, but maybe it was on purpose.
Anyway, I think we can all imagine what it was! A few examples of things I found from google and on her twitter -
"London is a first class city surrounded by a second class country."
"Little sweaty jocks, sending us Ebola bombs in the form of sweaty Glaswegians just isn't cricket."
"A Northern Irish beauty? A contradiction right there."
"If you have a Northern accent you sound more stupid. For me it’s the Liverpool and Newcastle accent."
I imagine it will have been something along those lines.

I agree OP. I'm inclined to believe that BB have edited out Hopkins nastier comments in case it would alienate viewers. I also believe that this has been to the detriment of people like Patsy who have then been accused of 'doing nothing of interest'.

Yes OP, I noticed this too. And I would have liked to have seen it. When Patsy said it in interview the matter was blanked by Emma in the usual "moving on" mode when something comes out of left field.

A truly gorgeous woman who holds herself with respect. Hardly insigfnificant.

Unless one gets off on argumentative and offensive people like Katie Hopkins

A tedious shell of a woman i'd say.

Walking around in her beret banging on about peace and love.
I genuinely think she has the menopause or something.

Oh Lord! Being mature enough to avoid conflict makes a better person. How do you not get that?

She's a proud British patriot who loves the British public. Providing you define Britain as London and the South East of England, and exclude anyone inside that area who is either unemployed, fat, Northern, Scottish or ginger.

No, being mature is being able to get involved in debates without turning into a quivering wreck.

Debates, yes. Infantile arguments between 12 year olds masquerading as adults? Not so much.

wow! couldn't you come up with a better cliché Matt?
I thought you didn't like people using medical issues as a way of criticising contestants?
She was forced to have an early hysterectomy last year after they found two tumours which were so large they made her look seven months pregnant.
