Two Sides of the Same Coin

Don't you find it funny how when we debate (argue) over Katie Hopkins and Perez we always accuse one of them of doing something as a reason to like the other when the other does the same thing.

Namely both are childish and attention seeking. Both want to be the stars of the show. Both make faces. Both make insults,. Both draw lines. Not so surprisingly they are very much alike. The difference that are there are minor yet seem to make a great chasm between their supporters

Personally I find Perez to be childish and a fool and acting as such. At times he can go way over board but overall I find him inoffensive in how he goes about it. But at times I also find him funny and makes me laugh.
Katie Hopkins on the other hand has a more unpleasant edge to her childishness. It's less about "look at me" and more about "what's wrong with you". Her acidic put downs are constantly tinged with a superiority complex and her constant smug looks as she gets to people just turns my stomach.

To simplify I find Perez Inoffensive and Katie Hopkins Offensive. Yet ultimately they are both childish.

Both are awful, desperate trolls but at least Perez has some personality and provides a few laughs.

That's the only way I can call it.

As my dad would have said 'you can't put a fag paper between them'.

Yep, this is exactly how I see it. That's inside the house; outside, I also think Perez is the lesser of two evils; simply because he solely targets those who are well resourced and who actively seek attention. Katie H does the opposite, the weaker you are, the harder she'll go.

Excellent post.

I would maybe just add that Perez at least has the self-awareness to recognise they are essentially the same.

It's funny, while I 100% agree that they're truly a gruesome twosome, I still find Katie (as a HM) far more tolerable/entertaining than Perez. I don't think he's made me laugh once since the show started.

There's just something so slimey and all-round repulsive about him.

That's what's funny. Shame on me, but I like him on my telly for it.
But the OP's good piece sums it up. There's something spiteful about Katie H's version, she looks down her nose at people.

This is actually the best way ive seen of phrasing it...Hit the nail on the head so hard that it has a pretty severe concussion

I agree, although I can tolerate Perez more because just him being there winds Hopkins up. If I HAD to vote between them to win for instance, I would vote for Perez.

I agree with you. They're both absolutely horrific and being asked to choose between them is like being asked if you'd prefer herpes or syphilis. However, there is something about Perez that irritates me to the point that I want to poke rusty nails into my eyes rather than watch him

No need for shame. We like who we like and entertainment is in the eye of the beholder.

I've no time for her outside the house but, as a HM, and as ridiculously transparent and by-numbers as she is, she does make me laugh.

I'm the same. Just the sight of his wolf-face makes my skin itch.

Another nonsense thread trying (in vain) to try and portray Hopkins being as bad or worse than Perez.

He is the self confessed trouble maker and attention seeker, Hopkins only crime is to react to his goading behaviour.

There is a huge difference between the two.

And Hopkins isn't a self confessed stirrer. She has admitted she takes pride in offending people. As stated in this thread the Only difference between the two is

Perez targets the people who tend try try and stay in the limelight.

Hopkins targets the people who don't have as much of a platform as her and therefore struggle to be able to fight back.

They can both be idiots and both say things behind peoples backs but Hopkins is the more cowardly of the two.

Totally. She gets a kick from picking on the vulnerable. It's sport to her.
