While I'll admit I'm not much of a fan of the artist I have to say this really is one of the best pop albums of all time. Its up there with Like A Prayer by Madonna and Stripped by Christina.

I just wish she had done an official video for Monster.

I have to agree, and you used two such fantastic examples of other amazing pop masterpieces as well.

Not just Monster, but many wanted a dance in the dark video as well.

It doesn't classify as an album though with only 7 tracks, but it was fantastic.

Amazing album. Better than 'The Fame' but slots in nicely. Personally I see it as a re-release rather than a new album but everyone differs. Great tracks. Very great and strong body of work

Absolutely agree. I count this as a re-release (like Lana Del Rey's BTD: Paradise Edition) but it and The Fame (main album) are Gaga's best. BTW was ok as well, but she has gone downhill in recent times. I listen to TF/M more than ARTPOP.

There's a handful of songs on ARTPOP that I think are excellent: Aura, Sexxx Dreams & Gypsy.

I also think MANiCURE sounds like a 'The Fame' song.

The rest I don't really listen to really

I loved it when it first came out but I don't think it's aged very well. Sounds dated to me now.

I played it for the first time in about 3 years tonight and loved it all over again. It was very of the time but I don't see that as a bad thing really. Music trends are always changing, esp when it comes to pop.

All songs were brilliant, but making Alejandro a single over Dance In The Dark was a terrible choice!

Best album of all time.

I think all the tracks on it could have been singles but I think what ruined Alejandro was the awful video. I also think that's the point where it went Pete Tong for her.

I have always been confused at why Dance In The Dark wasn't a single and a read a post on another music forum which suggested it was because her label felt USA Radio wouldn't play it as they felt it might have upset her, until then, the successful billboard run of hit singles.

It's a great collection of tracks. I wish she hadn't rush released it on The Fame reissue though. It would have been agreat standalone album with just a couple of extra tracks.

And Alejandro was a wasted 3rd single. Dance in the Dark was the obvious choice

Great Pop Artist

I see Fame Monster as separate from The Fame. If it had two extra tracks ... it could have been released in ints own right. There are plenty of demos from that era that would fit - glitter and grease, earthquake, quicksand, fever

I find that with Gag's music more so than her pop peers, her music is the very definition of disposable pop. I play her albums to death on release but lose interest quite quickly and have little desire to hear them again, except for genuine classics like TEOG and DITD.

Im not a gaga fan... But its an incredible album. One of the best pop albums of all time. Every song is still amazing.

That completely sums up my feelings, I play them to death for about 2 weeks and then have no desire to listen to them again.

I wouldn't say Gaga's music is "disposable pop" but I would say that some tracks are, those (in my opinion would be)
-Disco Heaven
-I Like It Rough
-The Fame
-Beautiful Dirty Rich
-The Queen
-Fashion of his Love
-MANiCURE
-Telephone (arguably)

The above are just some that spring to mind. With those songs in particular they seem to follow the general 'pop' structure and when you compare those with Poker Face & Bad Romance for example, which are filled with clever lyrics within a pop song and more than one catchy verse/chorus, the others fail in comparison.
