Yeah, so the OP should be Calum didn't mention Nadia's food
She'd argue over a hulahoop anyway.

Callum strongly denied dissing "Nadia's" food to begin with, but did eventually confess to saying he wanted to make something lighter.

He may not have actually mentioned Nadia's name, but was pretty obviously referring to her as she appears to most of the cooking.

Yes, a lot of fuss about very little but, in there, everything is magnified 10 fold, so it matters - greatly!

Exactly. Saying someone's food is heavy is not the worst insult, it's the fact he lied to Nadia saying he'd never say anything about her food when he obviously had.

Exactly. He said he was going to cook something light as the food they'd had recently had been heavy. He mentioned no names.

Are you saying that Calum DID mention Nadia by name when referring to the stodgy food?

Nadia is controlling, insisting people eat heavy food because she likes it.”

She doesn't insist on anything. She cooks, nobody has to eat it!

ETA: Just reading through, where did the word stodgy come from? I didn't hear him say stodgy!

There was absolutely no reason why he couldn't have said it to her face, but put it nicely. He then wound her up further by lying. He was a pussy twice over.

Nadia appears to do most if not all of the cooking. Calum offered to cook something light for a change instead of "pure stodge". He even pulled a face.

but he's not insulting her cooking , he's been eating it, and said he likes it, there's nothing wrong with wanting something light with more veg -he told Nadia that -And I've seen the others cooking so you can't say Nadia cooks every night and it was Perez who said Calum SAID Nadia's cooking, but he didn't - you could see how annoyed Calum was with what Perez had said, and it was inaccurate. Why you can't see or accept it is a real possibility that Nadia overreacted and/or Perez was stirring and twisting what was actually said !

Re-watching it now.

Flashback:

People asking him to cook.
C: If I'm honest with you, if nobody minds, I want to make something healthier than pure stodge

Cheers and yay's

C: cause it's all been quite heavy

KP: Please cause I'm so bloated in here

C: Literally chicken & veg, you know what I mean, but with some nice spicy ...

So yes, he did say stodgy but never mentioned Nadia.

Even Perez admits at the end of the show that he can't recall the exact words and who said what, although he seems to have represented it to Nadia as if he does.

True, although I've seen Keith cooking and, of course, Calum.

Of course, also seen them all eating

I love this place! I read the thread title questioning whether saying food is stogey is bad or not... And then saw there were 3 pages of discussion on it already! 😸

Pardon? I never made any mention of whether Nadia overreacted and/or Perez was stirring.
