And so's your French

You mean "je ne suis PAS Hatie Kopkins", I presume? In fact, if you are going to drop one of the parts of the negative, many French people don't bother with the "ne", so you actually could get away with "Je suis pas Hatie Kopkins".

Why do you want to tell everyone that you are not "Hatie Kopkins"?

Why would anyone have thought you were?

Because of her declaration of love for the GBP presumably - some people want to deny that she speaks for, represents or even likes the GBP and have chosen that way to do so!

I would agree with the sentiment, but don't want to hijack the 'je suis' sentiment used so recently in solidarity for something of genuine importance

Ah, thank you. I was genuinely puzzled there. I wondered if I was missing something in translation.

I wanted to like her, but she's proved to be too controlling.
