Yes, Chromecast will have more native support this year. Whether that is from a service you want is a different question. But Google have committed support for the Chromecast by adding it into their new Android TV platform.

4oD is unlikely until they complete their change into the new format is underway - that is, "All 4" which is due to begin sometime in the 1st quarter. However, there is no word if they will then implement Chromecast support, but it is more likely they will do so under All 4 rather than 4oD

The only way to know about TVPlayer is to ask them. The more people that request it, the likelier it will appear. TVPlayer is an interesting one, as they stated early last year that they planned Chromecast support, but it never happened. Perhaps they had to mothball plans for some reason.

Thanks for that. I emailed TV player support and they said they have no plans in the future but they said there going to send feedback. I bet it will appear this year. After all custumer services always keep things typed liped so who knows.

I don't think we will see either Channel 4 or ITV content on chromecast. Both currently follow the startergy of selling access on an exclusive basis to a single company per platform type. For streaming boxes Sky are said to have paid a signficant amount to both to make the Roku/NowTV exclusive

Re ITV player - get Plex and install ITV as a channel. it is an unsupported app so you have to search web for details on how to download and install.
Then you can cast it
See URL below - can ignore now TV parts. Version number of plx must be 2.8.2 or higher.
