My contract is coming to an end. I've considered getting rid of my phone altogether.. Get a cheap Nokia for texts, calls & playing MP3s & now I'm pondering whether to Escape Apple & get another phone & slap a PAYG sim in it

Recently I had a Lumia 930 for a week, loved it but couldn't get any notifications on social media. I've given up on social media, so that's null now

So ideas for a phone please & a tariff to slap it on too!

Ps going from iMessage to texts would make my usage significantly more.. So I'm thinking the 321 tariff from 3 would be useless, but I'm willing to try it!

Forgot to add.. Cost below £400 would be ideal.. BUT If a contract (EE or 3 only out here in the sticks) makes it just as cheap as buying it outright & then adding £10 a month for credit, then I'm up for considering that too

While I appreciate that you are bipolar and an idiot, you asked exactly the same question a few days ago, and came to the conclusion to keep your iPhone.

The only possible benefit is that you could probably sell your iPhone for more than the cost of a new Lumia on contract. However, you probably want to avoid the stress selling an old phone can induce.

That was about a non smartphone & it was also about escaping the clutches of Apple..

So now I'm asking for ideas for alternative smartphones.. Which is completely different..

As mentioned before, the first thing you should do is get 3 to unlock your iPhone. Do it today. That way you have lots of options later.

That's all changed now, if a phone was purchased after 1st January 2014 it will already be unlocked, if purchased before 2014 then you just fill in a form to request.
