Do you think EastEnders should change channel for one-night only?
EastEnders 30 Anniversary week should they change channel for one-night only on Monday 16th February 2015 to make everyone happy!!!
If I was planning the schedules I would put EastEnders on BBC Three at 8.00 pm and then do a repeat at 10.30 pm over on BBC One after the news for example Waterloo road they show their episodes first on BBC Three and they have a Repeat later that night on BBC One. There wouldn't be much difference. What does everyone else think!!! |

I'm certain BBC would have been aware of the football for some time, and would have already planned for this in the schedule. I can see it going.
Tues. 7.30-8.30 Weds. 8.00-9.00 Thurs. 7.30-8.00 (Live episode with reveal at end) Fri. 8.00-8.30 (Flashback episode) |

Even though it shouldn't make a difference in this day and age where everybody has multiple channels, many people are creatures of habit and won't check other channels, they'll just assume it isn't on because it isn't on BBC1. Also, a lot of series links wouldn't pick it up if on a different channel. Plus you'd have those people that enjoy both football and EE. I personally think it would be better to just have longer episodes on the other days. |

Only problem with that scenario is where does Holby City go which can't be easily dropped for a week as they make 52 episodes per year. It could happen with a double bill in a later week but it is a slight issue.
They might go for aa Sunday episode instead. And NO why would EastEnders be moved to a digital channel? I'd rather have no episode on Monday then have it moved away from BBC1. |

Holby could go out Wednesday at 9:00pm or even try 7:00pm on Friday night.
And NO why would EastEnders be moved to a digital channel? I'd rather have no episode on Monday then have it moved away from BBC1. I don't think EE should go onto BBC3/4 (or even 2) either. I actually think that would lose more viewers for just not realising what was happening than a change of day or time slot but still on BBC1. |

Holby City will probably move to Thursday 8.00-9.00 as it has done before, or could air on Tuesday 9.00-10.00 as Silent Witness will have finished the week before.
I think the Holby City spoilers for 17th are due out tomorrow - we'll see if it has a date change or transmission date to be confirmed on it. |

They could do that with Holby yes. They have shown it on Weds or Thursdays before and as double bills in one week for special events or when it has been cancelled at short notice - the forming of the coalition as one example.
I don't think EE should go onto BBC3/4 (or even 2) either. I actually think that would lose more viewers for just not realising what was happening than a change of day or time slot but still on BBC1. It will still get it's EastEnders lead in but I would have thought EastEnders will have bigger numbers than usual anyway. Moving EastEnders to BBC2,3 or 4 would be stupid and I bet the idea had never crossed anyone's mind at the BBC. Only on DS would we hear of such silly ideas. |

Where is the EE 'after party' thing going BBC3 again? If so, 8pm on Thursday straight after the live episode would be the logical place.
I think the Holby City spoilers for 17th are due out tomorrow - we'll see if it has a date change or transmission date to be confirmed on it. I think BBC 1 would be the best move. The Football will be on ITV so it would make more sense to the BBC to have strong programmes against it. |

I really wouldn't mind, I will most likely be watching the football and having to catch up on Iplayer so the change of day does not bother me.
Is the whole of the UK digitalised now then? thats the only way it would air on bbc3. bbc2 was obviously an option but they have a different target audience. the bbc made the decision when to air it, It is afterall up to them. god help the world if they ever cancel it

Anyway what I don't understand is why everyone is up in arms coz it's had one schedule change? I Call myself a massive fan and watch religiously through thick and thin since 89 as much as I love It I can put things into perspective. We are not missing out on anything at all, just have to wait an extra day for it to kick off but some people on here are hysterical about it! |

An episode during EastEnders 30th and with LIVE inserts should be on main channel BBC1 and not shipped off to BBC2 against a Football Match on 1. Having The Football on BBC1 and EastEnders on BBC2 will just dent each other. |

How about switching the football to BBC2 ? Simples!
I'm sure football fans can find the button on the remote if they really want to see it! Soap fans don't do that. |

It aired on BBC2 in 2012 while the London Games too place and back last summer for Glasgow.

They chose to put it on the Monday which is what makes the decision really odd. |

and we know the world never ended when it did
![]() ![]() I think the whole country is digitalised now - i believe the last regions transferred in 2014 but i might be wrong as we changed back in 2012. I personally always check my EPG and also still buy yhe old fashioned paper magazine guides so would be aware of any changes in schedule and ensure i set the recorder accordingly - especially in a week as important as the Anniversary. But not everybody is the same. Obviously it will make no difference to those that always watch using catch up services. |
