EE - Laundrette
Should they demolish it? They don't need it in today's life.

The laundrette is an iconic EastEnders location and unique to the show. It's too important to disappear.
What I think it would benefit from is a complete refurbishment with more focus on dry cleaning and alterations. This would take some of the unbelievability of the business surviving solely on 'service washes', though the washing machines and dryers should be kept to maintain the laundrette atmosphere. This would be more realistic as there are still plenty of dry cleaners around in London and other towns and cities. The alterations service could bring a new edge, with someone employed as a seamstress to work alongside the dry cleaning staff. They should also employ someone younger to work alongside Dot. Not sure if Cora still works there or not but it's time for her to leave. For me, the most important role of the laundrette is to provide a private and quiet space for secrets to be shared and worries to be unburdened. This really could work. |

Thanks vaslav. I feel it's time for her to go to make way for someone younger.
