She said that she was in there for the money.
She said that anyone who goes in there is either going in there for the cash or to raise their profile.
So I don't think she meant that she was ONLY going in there to make friends.

Another misguided reason some people use is that they are going in there to learn about themselves. Like BB is where people go to do that.

I like 'I'm going for the experience'. As if ANYONE would do that except for fame or money.
And why wouldn't she want to make friends? She seems quite lonely and deprived of genuine friendships, and it may be naive for her to think she will find it in that tedious house but doesn't mean making friends isn't believable.

Yes, they usually say ' I'm not here to make friends.'
I suppose it's a good a place as any. It is harder to make new friends as you get older, especially if you're self employed.
