Lollipop has now arrived on my HTC One (M8) and is ready to download. Seeing as Lollipop virtually wrecked my Nexus 7, I would like to hear from anyone who has updated their phone to this version and what their experience was.

Thanks.

I upgraded on Wednesday, and have had no issues.

I got yesterday and had no issues up to now like,
It seems to have speeded up the handset a lot and added a new notifications layout, apart from that i cannot see much else if im honest.....
Just doing a full charge now to see if the battery life has been altered in anyway

Got it this morning.
NNo real difference...... Except
If you want to shut down all pages at once... HOW?
And where is the new camera trick where you put yourself in another picture?

I am waiting on a stable release of Cyanogenmod 12. Have tried one of the nightly builds but it's still pretty buggy.

There is no button to close all running apps as far as I can tell. Pretty annoying having to swipe every app to close.

I've also noticed my battery life has been a lot worse yesterday since updating. I'd say at least 30% worse.

Not sure what you mean by this. Apart from 'Force Close', Android doesn't really have a concept of closing apps. Apps suspended in the background are only killed if memory runs out.

My battery life has improved after the update, as you would expect from Lollipop.

I put the developer edition on mine and was quite pleased with the upgrade, especially once I replaced as much of the sense bits as I could. I particularly like the new notifications.

I don't like the new notifications pull down menu, its too iphone like and annoying. Would prefer to go back to v4.4.4

Great minds think alike JeffG1 - I also have a HTC One (M8) and Nexus 7.

Actually the Lollipop upgrade on the Nexus was fine for me - not being able to dismiss all open apps is annoying but I can live with it.

I'm have an annoying problem with the GPS on my HTC One though - just got it back from HTC repair and they said there was no hardware fault. Maybe Lollipop will resolve it . . .

you can still close all your open apps if you press the button to show all apps running then press the 3 dots in the top rights and click settings then change layout to grid view it will be the same as on kitkat

My version doesn't have those 3 dots to go into settings lol. Slightly annoying as I want to go back to grid view but I can't as there are no buttons to get me into the menu.

I have an unlocked phone if that helps.

I put the Skydragon rom on my M8 over the weekend and have had no problems with it so far.

I went for the Sense one

Turn the phone so it's in a landscape orientation and the three dots should appear.

If you choose to display running apps in grid mode (under settings) then you'll get a cross to close all apps.

Thank you! This worked and now I can change back to older view.

Cheers!
