I agree, the person or person's who made the initial complaint if there has been a complaint should be charged with wasting police time.....

If KH didn't file a complaint then i don't see the police getting involved... but it is people like you Condoning that kinda behavior that is an insult to real victims of harassment and assault.
Just because she didn't complain doesn't mean it wasn't wrong...or that another woman wouldn't feel violated and be shocked, discussed, horrified, and when you write it off as "nothing" you discourage people who do from speaking out..and encourage creeps like Perez who might be tempted to pull the same stunt

Frankly..it is rather irresponsible on KH part to let him get away with something like that without calling him on it.

Total rubbish however I do feel there would at least be a tiny little bit in it if it were Alexander. I mean Perez was harassing him and was using his mouth in a sexually suggestive way as part of that harassment. Nothing police worthy of course but you could logically suggest that.

As a real victim of sexual assault when I was young I find people abusing terms like this deeply offensive. Legally, even tapping someone on the shoulder with a finger qualifies as an assault. But it would be an obscene waste of police time to report it by distracting limited resources from more serious crimes which the victims themselves are concerned about.

As a father of a daughter who suffered quietly for months when she was sexually harassed because she feared she would be viewed as the offending party..i stand by everything i said. Perez action where inappropriate and should be condemned.

Nail on the head. Stupid people literally buy into this rubbish and no doubt ratings will be up tonight.

Oh good grief. Its not like he walked to a stranger in the street and licked them. It was all done in jest.
Anyone offended wants their head looked at.

I suggest you look hard at your own words for graphic evidence of the fundamental difference. Hopkins was harassing Perez herself and clearly stated on camera she had no problem with this single event.

Good he should be sent to prison for his vile behaviour.

You totally missed the point of both my posts...

the issue is not if KH was offended..the issue is with condoning Perez behavior and the effect that has on women who are harassed and abused.

I'm sure in your "support" for Perez you want to blame the woman...but is Perez behavior that concerned BB...Perez behavior that received a warning...

And when people like you minimize it..trivialize it.. you encourage it. It clearly was offensive enough for BB to address it and not every woman who be un phased by it. IT SHOULD NOT be defended by anyone

Yes, well summed-up. And I think Katie WAS disgusted and did feel threatened but she is afraid of appearing weak. Running away was all she could do, and the giggling, I think, was a nervous, stress reaction. She knows Perez gets away with bullying behaviour so it placed her in a dilemma. She put her face close as a warning - it's an aggressive pose - as her words which she normally relies on weren't being acknowledged.

If true, that's absolutely and utterly ridiculous! It's bloody laughable! What the bloody hell's the world coming to when tapping someone on the shoulder gets classed as an assault?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_assault

There must be some quality of reasonableness to the apprehension on the part of the victim. If the physical contact is everyday social behaviour such as a handshake or friendly pat on the back, this is acceptable even though the victim may have a phobia

It has always been that way. Like so much law there is no strict legal definition. So yes, under the wrong circumstances, you could be charged for tapping someone on the shoulder.

Well quite. I think the degree that Katie was up in Perez's face and could be perceived as threatening and intimidating it would make any action unviable.

People comparing this incident to genuine sexual harassment or assault are missing the point. I think it's just a sign, along with the fact that BB is the most complained about show, that there is something deeply wrong in a fandom that has so colossally lost any sense of perspective.

Too true.

If anybody licked me without consent id hit the roof. You should invade someone's personal space, especially if its someone you dont like. Thankfully Katie laughed it off, she's a bigger person for it Pérez would've sued or had her removed.
Its not sexual harassment as its the context that should be considered here, but as a normal functioning member of society he ought to know what's acceptable or not.
Sadly he seems to think he's a law onto himself.
Katie however shouldn't challenge him by going into his personal space to intimidate him either. Its a cock fight nothing more. Its hilarious the male cast was that week this year Katie h and Pérez are fighting for the alpha position.
