About time, My S5 runs worse than my Moto G ever did due to Samsung Rubbish. I think this video says it all.

I got a Note 4 recently although sent it back because it was just too big for me but another reason was that I was surprised that there wasn't a significant speed increase between that and my rooted overclocked Galaxy S3. Things like going to tab view on the browser are surprisingly laggy.

A friend of mine got an Xperia Z3 Compact recently which seems much quicker and snappier so I'm going to be switching to Sony for my next phone.

If Samsung go all-metal and make their UI much quicker then the S6 should be a pretty desirable phone.

I wonder how much Samsung charge to make bloatware that you can't uninstall uninstallable if you took a Samsung Galaxy S3 to one of their service centres.

It's really annoying that the original factory version of system app you can't uninstall without root, a size of one just giving an example was 5.54MB (7.81MB when you add in data and cache, and now the most up to date version after updating in Play Store is now 42MB (65.33MB when data and cache are added) and you can't move them all over from internal storage/hard drive to your SD card. And even the custom ones you have installed on an SD card (i.e. moved from internal storage where possible), if you don't have enough space on internal storage the apps will not update even if you have loads of space on your SD card. After multiple updates of these system apps it becomes a complete nightmare.

My S3 was charging one minute, then the next minute it was no longer charging and I can't power it on or even do a reboot i.e. pressing On/off and volume together.

I hate the fact that you have to keep updating the unwanted pre-installed apps via Play Store to keep your samsung smartphone running smoothly. Eventually after numerous store updates there'll be no room to install updates of apps that you prefer better than the pre-installed apps or add new apps from the store, and you also have to uninstall some of the apps you like too.

I also hate the fact it says you have 1.5GB of space on internal storage, yet you can't install a 2.5MB update yet a few 100MB's of data can still be added to the many various unwanted pre-installed apps. What's all that about?

Not sure if they still update if you disable them.

If they actually get rid of Touchwiz I might actually consider a Samsung device again, I hate the way it looks and has put me off a Samsung device for years.

It's a sensible move.

Try using a Nexus 5. It's super smooth compared to any Samsung I've tried.

Rooting was definitely the best thing I ever did. Made my S3 bearable for a lot longer. Thanks to Greenify and Titanium Backup I've got it running quick, battery lasts all day too with prolonged use even though it's overclocked.

Lollipop seems a step too far for it though as can't find a 5.0 ROM that doesn't lag so seems the right time to move on. Would rather buy a phone I didn't have to root anyway which means I'm avoiding Samsung for now.
