This and those ugly faces she pulls are really strange. I'll never understand how she is a favourite.

It does make me cringe but I am not totally sure it's fake. I think she craves the affection of individuals and the Great British public alike. It's how she takes her new-found love for people forward that interests me now. I'd be prepared to cringe more to see how it unfolds in the future as she resumes her media persona.

I cringe when she comes on camera because I think oh no here is another confrontation in which someone has to defend himself for whatever imagined transgression Katie H is bringing up. I find her very dull and boring.

Her shrinking violet routine when she gets a compliment is just embarrassing.

What also makes me cringe is the way that, when she’s having a conversation or argument, she often makes a point of saying things like; “I’m not here to make friends” and “I don’t care whether people like me or not.”

People generally don’t make a point of keep mentioning that they don’t care about things unless they care about them. The fact that she feels the need to keep saying these things supports the fact that she cares very much what people think of her.

Nobody in that house wants approval more than she does. Her warped views about herself and the world mask the approval she craves, to an extent, because it looks like she wants to be hated.

I pretty much cringe at any face she makes.

'Look, my face is saying what I am thinking!'

Just sad really. Seeing a supposedly intelligent grown woman go all bashful and tearful. Its just another of her exaggerated acts.

I cringe at all her jumping around, pulling faces, little girl routines. She acts like she is 12 sometimes.

I think this is why she is strangely popular. Those beliefs she spouts - I do believe they are her true thoughts. If she expressed those - sometimes very hateful things - in a calm, serious, quiet way - I think people would have a very different view of her. As it is, the exaggerated gestures and mannerisms she expresses those views with make those views very comical - and that makes her acceptable and liked (even by the people she truly does have a hatred for). Its wickedness disguised as buffoonery. Boris Johnson does the same thing - although he DOES sometimes choose some truly controversial issues to make comments on.

Autism?”

She's not autistic. She's too socially savvy and very well aware of the barbed effect of her words on others. I've never yet met an autistic person, and I know plenty, who takes pleasure in causing others distress. They are usually either unaware, or extremely careful not to cause upset.

I cringe every time I see her face. The sooner it's off my screen, the better. I very nearly didnt' watch this show purely because she was on it, and the jury's still out on whether it was a good idea to start watching. It's been a roller coaster but not in a good way. I haven't changed my mind about her at all.

I don't think they meant autistic - they meant caustic - it was probably a typo

Was thinking about the Boris comparison today too. They are both master manipulators and will say different things to different audiences too. Both fake and untrustworthy - but unfortunately the public fall for them.

The eyebrow is ridiculous.

Couldn't stand the woman when she went in - and have even less respect for her now than I had before - because of her constant bitchiness and talking behind people's backs.

I cringe when she tries to be flirtatious and does that Princess Di pose with her tilted head and downcast eyes.
Di could get away with it because she was gorgeous and a master at playing sweet and innocent, Katie isn't either of those things and it looks a bit scary

I don't feel she is being fake when she is clearly feeling uneasy with being complimented. There have been times when she is visibly upset by this....curious and interesting. Something deeply disturbing going on there, e.g. she seems not to believe that being nice is genuine. How very sad.

Hopkins strikes me as the type that would sit opposite a total stranger, eye them up then give them evil looks because she doesn't like what they're wearing, then when the stranger looks at her she tells them that it's rude to stare.

Most people are aware of what their face is doing in social situations, Hopkins hasn't developed this social skill yet she's still learning it like a kid.

I really agree with this post. Even though I have always despised Katie Hopkins for her vicious views about everybody, I have always thought there must be some underlying issues for her to be so caustic and say she doesn't care while she is a mother herself. And I have become even more convinced of it since she went in there, it's like she has to keep check on herself to keep throwing out the odd unpopular view every so often, even though it's plain to see she is not all bad at all, at least to me it is. It is this aspect of her personality I find the most fake, I don't believe she actually believes her own hype half the time, but it is obvious to me that she does have a problem with accepting compliments, and saying she wants to be hated strikes me as incredibly defensive.

The saddest part about all of this is that the public have the created the horrible persona that is Katie Hopkins the rotten to the core critic, by giving her air time and making her important by buying into her ramblings, she even gets invited onto morning tv programmes to argue the ridiculous points she makes! She was a failed contestant on a reality tv show, when she got booted off that she should have been allowed to disappear, instead she is making a nice tidy living out of garnering hate from almost every sector of society. Her poor kids will have to live with this and God forbid could probably turn out the same. If she was neglected in her own childhood as regards affection and love the odds are so will her own children. Hope I am wrong as like amyawake says it is very sad

So all of the British public are fat, ginger and unemployed? She slags off what she sees as the trashy minority (I don't agree with it all). But she has always celebrated the bluntness and honesty of the British public, broadly speaking.

presumably you mean the rich (or at least have a high paid job) right wing, opinionated - that match her opinions, who are blonde/brunette and are slim, eat the right food and have a good education.............................................................

.....and of course have a lineage going back several generations

I do not count as I am a Scot (have nieces and nephews with red hair and a tinge of red in my own) am overweight and although retired now have had spells of unemployment, am not right wing - in fact very much centered in my views respect peoples views and if they do not want to bore me with them I do not mind..........I could go on but I am not voting for Katie H
