My wife got an S5 a few months ago, but since then she has used her 4Gb allowance because of her e-mail, that alone has used up over 3Gb a month and I can't seem to see how it is using it, her syncing is set to manual so its not checking atomatically for e-mails, so I'm struggling to figure out what it could be.

Is it automatically downloading attachments? Usually that is set to WiFi only though.

Is it definitely email that's using the data? my Google+ was set to backup all photos and videos over mobile and that can use up a lot of data.... I now set it to backup only using wifi.

How do you do this?
Open Google+ in your apps folder, go to Settings (3 dots in top right corner then select Settings) now tap Auto Backup and scroll down to the Backup Settings and there are options to only backup over wifi or wifi or mobile network etc.
