I may be a bit dramatic about this, but after seeing yesterday's eviction result I think it's the best thing I can do.

I believe children shouldn't watch Big Brother or any reality show, it's an adult-themed program with very strong language and sexual content (and I'm delighted Channel 5 puut that warning before it starts every night).

The thing is, my 8 year old niece came yesterday from school, she's a bit over-weight because of a health problem, and while being in the PE (Physical Education) class where they were playing a game where one was "the killer" (I feel it quite saddistic tbh for the teacher's part to use these words in a children's game) and the others had to run while "the killer" had to catch them, and when he or she touches the person, he or she is "killed" and loses. My niece was randomly chosen as"the killer" and tried to touch another classmate (one of the mean girls), but it's quite difficult for her to run and I thought everyone would understand that, you know what that horrible girl said to me niece while she was trying to catch her? "YOU CAN'T CATCH ME FAT DOLLOT HAHAHA". My niece started crying and the teacher had to call her mother (my sister). I didn't understood at first why they were treating my niece like that until she told me that girl called her daughter (my niece) a "Fat dollot".

I'm sure THAT little girl watches Celebrity Big Brother and heard Katie Hopkins saying that to Perez. I'm sure THAT little girl watched Katie Hopkins being cheered for her behaviour. I'm sure THAT little girl believes she's right to behave like that because YOU Katie Hopkins fans want to turn this show into a nightmare, why do you enjoy seeing Katie trating people so bad? Aren't you aware of what you are doing?
I told my sister (who doesn't watch CBB) that she needs to talk with the teachers and ask them to tell the parents to not show this kind of shows to their children.

And I write this for those people who think this is just a reality show, it's not only that, this affects REAL LIFE and REAL PEOPLE.

Children are the most brutal bullies and have been throughout time, and only some of the time is it reflective of their parents.

When I was at school (many years ago now) children who were overweight, of different colour, ginger hair etc were all called names and teased.

That has nothing to do with Katie Hopkins.

Also, anyone who allows young children to watch any episode of BB, Celebrity or normal, is not being a good parent IMO because they have no idea what the content will be, both verbally or physically.

Unfortunately, the British public are fickle with a short term memory span... Forgetting what a bigot Katie Hopkins is... But apparently being nice in the SHALLOWEST of senses, in a reality show makes it alright.

It is not too hard to believe, kids were watching BB when I went to school, and they certainly were influenced by the media easily.

Good question.

Most people who unashamedly enjoy it are far to cowardly to answer it.

They say bullies are cowards don't they hmm...

I agree with this. KH is a horrible braying harpy who loves the sound of her own voice but to blame her for 8 year olds being mean to each other is taking it all a bit too far.

Kids can be mean, that's what they do unfortunately. Some never grow out of it in adulthood but that's about them as people, not because of very low ranking reality tv contestants

Katie Hopkins keeps criticising people who have surgery by saying they are not good role models. Katie Hopkins certainly isn't a good role model in my eyes and I agree with the sentiment that it is worrying that people enjoy and support her. I hate the seeing things in black and white. As a human race we have fought and moved on to see things in all the shades of different colours and that is what makes us great and that is what makes us compassionate.

I feel like we are going backwards. I love Big Brother, but with Helen and now a potential Hopkins victory, I just might have to accept I am no longer their demographic and target.

Ditto. I said in another thread, I remember when Nasty Nick was as bad as it got and people moaned about the likes of Kate and Craig winning. Remember when Mel got booed for kissing 2 men or when Adele got rounded on by the crowd for arguing with Jade and flirting with Lee, despite being gay?

Those innocent days seem a very long time ago now

It has always been the case that kids call each other names and if we believe this story (which I don't personally) its about time somebody told your niece that if she gives them a reaction (which if they had to call her mum must have been a bit dramatic) every time they call her a name her life at school is going to be miserable.

Nasty nick sat and blatantly lied saying his girlfriend had been killed I think that's as gross as someone can get. Almost as bad as swearing on your child's life and your dads grave when you're blatantly lying through your teeth!

I think it's more that KH's mindset has never moved out of the playground. Unfortunately children can be cruel but do have the excuse that they may not understand just how cruel they are being. Hopefully the child that bullied your niece will learn her lesson and grow up into a tolerant and well rounded adult and not turn into a KH clone.

If it wasn't for nasty Nick I doubt BB would still be on TV, the furor that caused in the media was HUGE and put BB on the map, everyone started to tune in and see what it was all about.

Kids have been picking on the fat kid since the beginning of time, I don't think KH really has that much influence

Well that is very harsh isn't it? Just because kids have always done it doesn't make it right does it? Those children and that teacher need to learn a bit of empathy.

Of course children shouldn't watch BB but not all parents monitor their children's viewing habits as much as they should.

Why have we all become so unfeeling and unpleasant these days?

Good question. But then CBB is repeated around midday! Must be very edited.

An 8 year should be in their Bed at 9pm. As Katie would say bad parenting.

Do children really play killer games during school lessons?

OP perhaps warn your niece that if children are watching CBB then the next comment she could get is "I'll be the huge d**k and I’ll shove it up your a**e!" As said by Perez

Keep up dear the point most reasonable people are making is that children have always called each other names they have not suddenly started in the last few weeks because Katie Hopkins does it. In the first part of your reply you acknowledge this and then ask why these days this is happening. Maybe people these days need to be a little less sensitive and not take themselves so seriously.
