What songs over 10 years old do you think still sound fresh and would smash if released today. Heard Christina Aguilera's Genie in a bottle on the radio today and though it sounded really fresh and current after nearly 16 years, and think it would smash again if releases today, also Crazy in Love still sounds like a smash and still sounds current..

Britney Spears Toxic springs to mind, now a 12 year old song and still sounds current.

Can't Get You Out of My Head. It sounds as fresh today as it did back 14(!!) years ago. In fact, it still sounds like something from the future. Incredible production.

The OP mentioned Christina. I think her stuff from Stripped would still stand up very well today I think. Dirrty in particular.

I think Freak Like Me by Sugababes that could find success in 2015. Agree with Toxic too.

Dip It Low by Christina Milian could easily be a hit in 2015. It would possibly be more successful now than it was in 2004.

- Black Eyed Peas songs
- Justin Timberlake & Timberland songs (including Nelly Furtado & Madonna produced tracks)
- Jay Z & Eminem songs (Jay Z & Linken Park's remixed Numb is at 16 on iTunes!
- Blur songs would still be hits (but seen as more jokey, Parklife, Song 2 would be big today imo)
- What everyone else said
- Coldplay songs

Could go on

Plenty of older music has stood the test of time but it doesn't follow that it enter the charts in 2015, whether it be Good Times' by Chic or 'Ace of Spades' by Motorhead.

I think Can't Get You Out Of My Head has never dated and still feels really modern

Toxic hasn't aged a day, a genius bit of pop. Very ahead of its time and many have tried and failed to replicate it.

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars.
Heard this on radio yesterday and just remembered how good a song it was and it didn't sound out of place amoung the modern stuff that was surrounding it...granted it was Sam Smith after it but still...and it's 9 years but near enough.

Everything but the Girl - Missing ( Todd Terry single version). I still love love this song and think it sounds timeless.

What songs over 10 years old do you think still sound fresh and would smash if released today. Heard Christina Aguilera's Genie in a bottle on the radio today and though it sounded really fresh and current after nearly 16 years, and think it would smash again if releases today
Funnily, I heard Genie in a bottle just today; I haven't heard it in years and I agree it would be a hit even today.
