Wow can't believe that was nearly 8 years ago back when I used to post on here a lot, I miss Black Guardian

I feel for the next showrunner in a way because like RTD and Moffat, there's always going to be that segment who will never be pleased by them and be demanding for them to go.

Person asks unanswerable question in a thinly veiled attempt to encourage the usual Moffat bashing. And lo! It doth occur.

Are people not allowed to dislike Moffat?

Since when did "Disagree With" turn into "Not allowed"?

Hmm. Let's try that the other way round and see if it still doesn't work....

Since when did disagreeing with those who dislike [the work of] Steven Moffat become "disallowed"?

It cuts both ways, IMO.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, and to express it, but anyone who does express it should not be surprised when others challenge it, contradict it and disagree with it.

Especially in a public forum.

True, but the post from Saladfingers was hardly fair on the OP. Reasonable question, I thought.

Depends if the OP has an agenda. Reasonable guess that he or she might, I thought.

And even if the OP doesn't have an agenda, you don't need to be Nostradamus to predict the outcome and the reactions of others.

Me personally I like both the Moffat & RTD era's, both have there problems but they don't stop me from enjoying either.

The question that follows is a simple one.

'For those who want Moffat gone, would you prefer no Doctor Who or continue with the Moffat era till a replacement Executive Producer/Showrunner can be found?'

For me the answer is a no-brainer.

Like you, I have enjoyed both C21 eras, indeed *all* eras of Who to a greater or lesser extent, and SM's is up there with my favourites like Lamberts, Hinchcliffe's and JNT's circa 1980 to 1984.

Personally think Moffat himself will decide very soon whether he wants to move onto other things, like his sworn enemy RTD (Joke!) if he hasn't done so already. And then obviously it's not his problem who replaces him. This is all pure conjecture, but knowing how far in advance these things are planned (and assuming and hoping the show will continue as a yearly presence for the foreseeable) I've got a feeling wheels are being/have been set in motion and decisions have already been made.

Or I could be talking *%@*! Whatever, SM cast Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi as the Doctor and have enjoyed them both. If it is 5 series plus specials with these 2 fine Doctors....job done. You're question isn't relevant to me for the above reasons.

One thing Moffat did get right is his casting of the leads. Many a diabolical episode has still been watchable thanks to the main performances!

Saying that, Toby Whithouse coming in with Damien Malony as the Doctor would be very very good indeed.

I would like to see a Whithouse + Capaldi combo for a year or two first, but Damien would be a very good choice.
