Hi all,

Now usually I bake my own desserts, but i fancied a sticky toffee pudding tonight and not having the ingredients in I just bought mr kipling's ready made ones from my local shop.

Being the idiot that I am, I didn't notice until I got home that they're microwavable and there are no instructions for oven heating (I don't own a microwave). They're in little plastic pots with film lids.

Any ideas for the best way to heat them up?

Thanks

We don't know what is in it. There is a risk of it drying out unless you use a bain marie.

Hi..i get those but different flavours..I think you can do them in the normal oven for a few minutes..like 180 degrees and not for long as they are already cooked partly..its a few seconds in the microwave so in the oven it shouldn't be long to do..just check on it every now and then

The puddings made from chocolate muffin type sponge say 8 minutes gas mark 6 but you have to make your own toffee sauce.

it's a pain putting the oven on, when 50 secs in a microwave does perfectly.

on some of the little pot desserts it actually says "not suitable for oven"., and on others it says "not suitable for microwave."

many can be done in either, though.

Bad news I'm afraid, OP. Tesco has the full cooking guidelines from the box, and it clearly says: "This product is not suitable for heating in a conventional oven."

Edit: You just beat me to it with your update. Glad to hear you proved them wrong.

I wonder if they mean not suitable for an oven if you keep it in the pot and cook it like you would in the microwave?

obviously you leave it in it's pot in the microwave

Should be OK in an oven as long as you empty it out of it's pot
